EA And BioWare have also revealed that players who pre-ordered the digital expansion Rise Of The Hutt Cartel by 7th January can now start playing, 5 days earlier than everyone else.

EA And BioWare Have Released A Teaser Trailer For The Star Wars: The Old Republic 1.7 Update
EA And BioWare have released a new teaser trailer for the upcoming 1.7 game update to Star Wars: The Old Republic.
They have also provided some more details regaring the Limited Time Live Event called Relics Of The Gree and the Galacxtic Reputation System:
Relics of the Gree – Discover the mysteries behind the Grey Secant, an ancient Gree starship that has suddenly appeared over Ilum’s Western Ice Shelf. From February 12 to February 26, players can visit the in-game News Terminals located on Carrick Station or Vaiken Spacedock to begin their adventure. The Gree have promised advanced technology, including powerful weapons and armor, to anyone who is brave enough to aid them against an insidious foe who has taken control at the heart of their ship.

Reputation – This new system enables players to earn
Reputation points by completing missions for factions such as the
Gree, or for military divisions within the Republic and the Empire.
The Galactic Reputation system advances characters through six ranks
of increasing prestige: “Outsider”, "Newcomer",
"Friend", "Hero", "Champion", and
"Legend". Galactic Reputation is also tied to a character’s
Legacy, so Reputation points and ranks are shared across all the
characters within the same Legacy.

BioWare Release New Trailer For The Rise Of The Hutt Cartel Expansion For Star Wars: The Old Republic
BioWare have released a new trailer for Star Wars: The Old Republic. this is for the upcoming Digital Expansion Rise Of The Hutt Cartel. coming this spring, the trailer uses in-game action to provide a first look at the expansion. The expansion will bring an increase to the level cap to 55, adds a new story to the saga and introduces a new planet called Makeb.

BioWare Announce Star Wars: The Old Republic Will Be Getting A Free To Play Option This Fall
EA and BioWare have announced a free to play option is coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic this fall. this free to play option will give players the chance to play as 8 character classes and level up to 50. unlimited game access will be made available through individual purchases or through a subscription option.
So from fall, there are two different ways to play Star Wars: The Old Republic:
- Subscription – A service designed for players who want unrestricted access to all the game features via ongoing subscription or by redeeming a Game Time Card. In addition to gaining access to all game content as our current subscribers do now, subscribers will receive ongoing monthly grants of Cartel Coins, the new virtual currency that will be introduced later this fall. Cartel Coins can be used to purchase valuable in-game items including customizable gear and convenience features that will enhance the game play experience.
- Free-To-Play – The first 50 levels will be Free-to-Play, with restrictions on access to new content and advanced player features. Some restrictions can be “unlocked” with Cartel Coins.

BioWare Announce Star Wars: The Old Republic Game Update 1.2, Detail Friends Trial Program
BioWare have announced game update 1.2 is coming to Star Wars: The Old Republic. this update, titled Legacy, is set to come out in April. Legacy brings new high level content to the game, including PvP Warzone Rankings and Guild Banks, along with enhancements to the game’s innovative Legacy system. Legacy also brings improved UI customization and gameplay fixes and more:
· Flashpoint: Lost
Island continues the Kaon Under Siege Flashpoint from Game
Update 1.1 – Rise of the Rakghouls. Players must survive a menacing
island of mystery on Ord Mantell as they hunt for clues to the
Rakghoul virus outbreak that ravaged the Tion Hegemony. But the
answers to this riddle may prove fatal!
· Operation: Explosive Conflict sends groups of eight or sixteen Imperial or Republic players to a new zone on the planet of Denova, where traitors and mercenaries are selling the rare explosive mineral baradium to the highest bidder. Players will battle through hordes of Droids, mercenaries and deadly creatures all fighting for control of the planet and its valuable resources.
· Warzone: Novare Coast pits two teams in an epic battle to control multiple mortar locations and use them to bombard vulnerable enemy bases. Like the Huttball Warzone, Novare Coast can be played Republic vs. Empire or with players of the same faction fighting each other in a thrilling contest of wills to determine each side’s greatest champions.

Rise of the
Rakghouls features a new Flashpoint and a new Operation as well
as a number of changes made throughout the entire game, including
level 50 bracketing for PvP WarZones, the addition of anti-aliasing
and changes to Open World PvP on Ilum.
- Flashpoint: Kaon Under Siege is a completely new and unique group combat experience located on Kaon, a planet in the Tion Hegemony, a strategically important sector of the galaxy that has remained neutral, groups of up to four Republic or Imperial players must race to Kaon to eliminate the Rakghouls outbreak, securing the allegiance of the Tion Hegemony for their respective sides. This Flashpoint will be available for level 50 characters only and will feature Normal and Heroic modes.
- Operation: Karagga’s Palace, is a continuation of the game’s second launch Operation. In the Operation, teams of 8 or 16 players will face off against Karagga and the Hutt Cartel after the Hutts abandon their famous neutrality and breach agreements with both the Republic and Empire. Concerned by the threat of another combatant in the war for galactic control, both factions send teams of their most powerful heroes to confront Karagga and determine his intentions. This Operation will feature Normal, Heroic and Nightmare difficulty modes.

EA Have Released 2 New Videos For Star Wars: The Old Republic
EA Have released 2 new videos for BioWares upcoming MMO, Star Wars: The Old Republic. the first video shows the newly announced player ships, these were announced at EA's Press Conference, showing both the Jedi and Sith ships. the video shows the exteriors and interiors of both vessels. The second video shows how players get better and better armor as they progress in the game, with the example being the Bounty Hunter.

EA Have Released A Star Wars: The Old Republic Lead Writier Interview
EA have released a new video for Star Wars: The Old Republic. this video is with the games Lead Writer, Daniel Erickson, and they discuss where this game sits in the Star Wars time line, whilst also providing some back story. the Bounty Hunter is briefly described, revealing that the class has a wide range of looks and play styles. No new video from the game is revealed, but Daniel does reveal that the game is coming out Spring 2011.
