Codemasters Have Released A New Trailer For F1 2010 Showing The Singapore And Abu Dhabi GP
Codemasters have released a new trailer for F1 2010. this trailer shows the Singapore GP and Abu Dhabi GP. the trailer aims to show the games light effects, especially between the contrasts of Singapore's night racing and Abu Dhabi;s day racing.
However, i'm a huge F1 fan and i'm disappointed to say that this trailer makes it clear that the cars in the game are not up to date. from the video, all the cars in the field are pre-Barcelona spec. this means for half the grid the wing mirrors are in the wrong place, Mercedes don't have their unique Air Box, Virgin cars are shorter and do not have the "shark fin" and a whole host of teams don't have the "f-duct".

Codemasters Have Released The Final F1 2010 Dev Diary And Shown Off 2010 F1 Cars In The Game
Codemasters have released a new developer diary for F1 2010. this is the 5th and final developer diary but it is the first that Codemasters have released to show off this years F1 cars and teams. The focus of this dev dairy is on Life in F1, revealing a whole new aspect of the game. The Video shows your teams garage and the work that goes on. in this garage you also have the ability to tweak your car's setup. they also talk about the challenge of having to beat your team mate whilst keeping releations between you good. the paddocks are also modelled after real world locations, for example Singapore is at night. the paddocks also have media who will want interviews, and your response to the questions is very important. the game will also have a more formal press conference.
My personal concern with the video they have released, and i'm very aware that the game is currently in development, is how out of date the cars already looked. i'm a big F1 fan and i was already disappointed that there would be no updates to the game to represent driver changes, so there's a good change Sakon Yamamoto won't be playable, but i'm just as concerned that the cars won't look right. in the video the Renault Front Wing was out of date, the same is true with the Virgin Racing car. I hope this will be rectified when the game comes out.
Press Release
Monday 2nd August/... Revealing how players will become immersed in the world’s most glamorous sport, the final F1 2010 developer diary, released today by Codemasters© showcases how the team’s mantra of ‘be the driver, live the life’ has been transformed into an innovative career mode that takes players closer to the sport than ever before. The video is now available to view at www.formula1-game.com and www.facebook.com/formula1game.
As any F1 fan knows, there is more to being a FORMULA ONE driver than being the fastest person on the track. To reflect this everything in F1 2010 is experienced from the driver’s perspective, from the paddock to post-race press conference and the team garage. Players will become immersed in the building excitement and drama of a race weekend as they interact with rival drivers, team members, fans and the press which all affect the way the gamer’s career plays out. Drivers can use the media to spur the team on or to criticise the lack of car development and even to pressure rivals in the hope they fold during the Championship run-in.
To deliver the authentic feel of a GRAND PRIXTM event, F1 2010 recreates the hustle and bustle of the garage and paddock, complete with motion captured pit crew, race engineers and pit girls. As a race weekend unfolds, the amount of attention the player receives intensifies according to their performance on the circuit. Expectations vary from team to team, and the driver is always under scrutiny from their teammates and the media as in real life.
In the video, former FORMULA ONE driver Anthony Davidson, Technical Consultant on F1 2010, explains the unique pressures that FORMULA ONE drivers must perform under, depending on team goals and the intense rivalries that develop on the circuit, as reflected in the game. “The expectations for the driver playing the game are the same as in real life given your machinery,” said Davidson. “At the end of the day, the teammate that you have is the only direct competition you’ll have through the whole season. There’s a strange balance of having to work together but also this desperate competition. Where it gets a little bit personal is events like qualifying and the race where you’re just out there to beat him, no matter what.”
FORMULA ONE fans can view the new developer diary at www.formula1-game.com andhttp://www.facebook.com/formula1game. F1 2010 is coming this September for the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows®.

Codemasters Have Released A New Dev Diary For F1 2010 Focusing On Cars And Tracks
Codemasters have released a new developer diary for F1 2010. this diary focuses on how the team gets the cars and tracks into the game. the devs say that they are given basic CAD from the teams, enough to make in-game wireframe models for the cars, and they also use photographs of the cars to get all the sponsorship in the correct location. But, its not just trying to make the cars look accurate, they are also trying to re-create each cars handling styles, making it so a Red Bull doesn't handle like a HRT. the same is true with tracks, by having Anthony Davidson, they are able to make sure that tracks not only look but also handle like they should, the example given is how cars always understeer at turn 8 at Spa.

The Video describes the way weather is used in the game, from the visual aspects of heat and wet, to the way the track changes and how the computer AI Reacts. The Dev team also discuss that during the games Campaign mode, circuits know for unpredictable weather will have it in the game, much the same way desert tracks like Abu Dhabi are likely to be just hot.

Friday 14th May/... The dynamic weather system is the focus for the latest F1 2010 developer diary, released today by Codemasters© and available to view at www.formula1-game.com.
Weather can have a dramatic affect on the outcome of a FORMULA ONE™ race, affecting both the level of control of the cars and race strategy. To deliver the most authentic FORMULA ONE experience possible, these effects are fully simulated in F1 2010, the official game of the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™.
In the video, the wide ranging effects of weather and their impact in the game are revealed. FORMULA ONE test driver Anthony Davidson explains that although you have some information about the weather at your disposal, how you use that information is crucial: “The teams know by the radar where the weather is coming from and how long it’s going to last. You’ll be aware of what the weather’s doing roughly, and then you can make your call, just like you would in real life.”
“Players can be going along outside the points, and maybe they make a gamble. The clouds come in, the skies darken. Maybe you pre-empt that the rain’s going to come now and you change your tyres early. Player choice is going to be critical at those stages,” added Senior Producer Paul Jeal.
In career mode, F1 2010’s weather system is fully dynamic, mirroring real life conditions which change at any time, whether between sessions or during a session itself. The weather authentically reflects the conditions at each of the 19 GRAND PRIX™ locations, meaning rain is unlikely at Abu Dhabi but conditions can be unpredictable at Spa and Silverstone. Presenting a further challenge, players can set the weather conditions and experience the dramatic affect they have on racing in GRAND PRIX, Time Trial and Multiplayer modes.
More than just a visual affect, the dynamic weather system in F1 2010 is an integral part of the game’s Active Track technology. This system means that the track is fully aware of how much grip, water, rubber, dust or marbles there is for every 30cm² of track surface, allowing players to see and take advantage of realistic drying lines during wet races as cars displace water from the racing line in real time.
Players will have to adapt their race strategy on the fly to accommodate for the changing conditions and will be able to gamble on a particular strategy that could lead to them gaining or losing places. Being on the wrong tyres at the wrong time could well ruin the chances of a positive race result.
To ensure F1 2010 will deliver the most authentic recreation of weather conditions ever seen in a racing game, former FORMULA ONE driver Anthony Davidson has been embedded into the team to give a driver’s perspective on the affects that changing conditions have upon the car and race strategy.
FORMULA ONE fans can view the new developer diary at www.formula1-game.com, the home for all the latest screens, news and videos straight from the studio. F1 2010 is coming this September for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and PC Games For Windows®.

Monday 26th April/... The car handling in F1 2010, the forthcoming official game of the 2010 FIA FORMULA ONE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP™, will focus on simulation authenticity, developers Codemasters Studios revealed today in the second F1 2010 developer video, now available to view at www.formula1-game.com.
“The preference has always been to go down the simulation path,” said Stephen Hood, Chief Games Designer, “You can make a realistic sim easier to play for somebody but it’s very difficult to take an arcade handling system and make that appeal to people who prefer simulation handling.”
Taking FORMULA ONE™ fans further behind the scenes of F1 2010, the ‘Handling’ developer diary also features new gameplay footage and former FORMULA ONE test driver Anthony Davidson, discussing the development team’s aim to create the “most authentic experience possible.”
In the developer diary, Anthony Davidson, who has been embedded into the team, explains the unique ‘twitchy’ way in which FORMULA ONE cars handle and how this is translated into authentic gameplay. His experience, combined with real world data and feedback from the teams, drivers and tyre manufacturers is enabling the F1 2010 team to bring alive the sensation of being an FORMULA ONE racing driver like never before. As in real life, aerodynamics plays a pivotal role in racing, and players will feel how cars can corner at extremely high speed yet perform very differently at lower speeds.
