Press Release
21st November 2012: Leading independent developer Curve Studios has today confirmed that Stealth Bastard Deluxe will be available worldwide on Steam on November 28th, priced $9.99 / £6.99 / €8.99.

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is a rebuilt version of Curve’s acclaimed prototype, which has been downloaded over 135,000 times. The game takes a razor to the stealth genre, hacking off the unnecessary padding to create one of the purest sneak-‘em-ups ever created: if you’re seen, you’re probably dead.

The Deluxe version takes everything that made the original so popular and improves upon it in every way. With new gadgets, new levels, new enemies and new traps, it’s the best, most punishingly hilarious stealth platform game known to man.

Stealth Bastard Deluxe is set across eight chapters, with 80 levels in total, charting the adventures of the protagonist, as he runs, jumps, scuttles and slides through the facility in a bid to escape his fate.

This fast-paced action platformer has been described as a cross between Metal Gear Solid and Super Meat Boy. Players must use the shadows to evade enemies and traps, hacking terminals to open fresh areas, and using new equipment to create diversions or negotiate troublesome areas.

The game introduces new play mechanics in the form of decoy devices, teleporters and shadow generators – among others – each of which can be used to tackle levels differently. Shaving milliseconds off each level will bump players up the global leadboards – offering true bragging rights, and the title of “sneakiest bastard”.

Stealth Bastard Deluxe also comes with a revised editor, allowing players to experiment with their own set of traps to create fiendish levels which can be shared globally .

“We’ve learnt so much since we released the original prototype last year,” says Jonathan Biddle, design director, Curve Studios. “And it’s all been poured into Stealth Bastard Deluxe. The feedback from the community has given us the impetus to create a full version of the original idea – and we’re absolutely thrilled with how it’s shaping up. Seeing the game evolve from a single mechanic of “don’t be seen or you will get killed”, into a fully-fledged Steam release has been enormously rewarding – and we can’t wait to get the full version out there and see how the Steam community reacts.”

Stealth Bastard Deluxe will be available on Steam on November 28th 2012, priced $9.99 / £6.99 / €8.99.
