Maxis Have Released A New Developer Video For SimCity Showing How Economics Work

Maxis and EA have released a new video for SimCity. this behind the scenes look at the game focuses on how economics work in the game. the example is simple and the graphics shown in the game are not final.

Sony Announced PS Vita Firmware Update 1.65 But Took It Down Due To A Technical Issue

Sony announced PS Vita firmware update 1.65 earlier today. however this update was taken down due to a technical fault. its not clear if this fault was with the firmware update itself or a technical issue their end. i personally was unable to get the update when it was available.

Sony listed the update as bringing the following to the Vita:

  • You can now disable the notification alert messages that indicate when friends sign in, messages are received and other activities. To disable these alerts, got to [Settings] > [Sound & Display] > check/uncheck [Notification Alerts]. Additionally, Notification alerts will now display for five seconds instead of three seconds
  • ‘After 10 Minutes’ has been added as an option in [Power Save Settings] > [Auto Standby]
  • An arrow will indicate when new activities are available in LiveArea
  • Caps Lock is now supported by the on-screen keyboard. Simply double-tap the Shift key to enable it
In the comments section of the blog it appears there were other features in this update:

“Denizens of NeoGAF using the fresh firmware have spotted extra features: improvements to how often Near updates, a percentage bar when installing a game and the ability to background download when manually selecting sleep mode.” Also some people say that the Minis from Plus are now working.

Sony say they will let people know when the update is back online. for those who already have it, Sony say they should continue as normal with their updated PS Vitas.

Replay Games Have Started A Kickstarter For Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded

Replay Games have announced they have acquired the license to Leisure Suit Larry and convinced the original artist, Al Lowe, to come back and re-imagine Leisure Suit Larry. several other members of the original team have also come back, including Josh Mandel, Sabine Duvall, and Leslie Balfour.

Replay Games have started a new Kickstarter so they can make Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards: Reloaded in celebration of Leisure Suit Larry's 25th Anniversary. their goal is $500,000 over the next 29 days so they can bring the game to PC's. if they over achieve this target, they have revealed that they will aim to localise the game into as many languages as possible, bring the game to as many other platforms as possible, have a live orchestra performing the soundtrack, and try to expand the game.

The PC version will be available either DRM free, standalone, or you can have the game from Steam.

Microsoft Announce New Chome Wireless Controllers For The Xbox 360, Out Mid-May Across The USA For $54.99

Microsoft have revealed new Chrome controllers for the Xbox 360. currently confirmed as coming out across the USA mid-May for $54.99, these controllers feature the transforming D-Pad.  the colours available are Blue, Red, and Silver.

Black Bean And Milestone Announce WRC 3, Coming October To PSV, PS3, PC, And Xbox 360

Milestone and Black Bean have announced WRC 3, coming out This October for the PS Vita, PS3, Xbox 360, And PC. the game has a new graphics and game engine, which has been developed in house, over previous WRC games. WRC 3 will feature all the rallies in the 2012 WRC Calendar as well as drivers and teams, including Class 2 and Class 3 series teams and cars.
