Black Bean Announce WRC Will Feature The Pendulum Track "Witchcraft"

Black Bean have announced they an agreement with Warner Music UK and Pendulum to include the Pendulum track "Witchcraft" in the game and to use it in a game trailer.

Press Release

London, 25th August, 2010 - Black Bean Games, the leading Italian videogame publisher, today announces a synchronization agreement with Warner Music UK and Pendulum, the Australian electronica/drum & bass band which debuted at number one on the UK album charts with their third acclaimed album ‘Immersion’.

WRC FIA World Rally Championship, the racing videogame developed by Milestone Studios, is back after five years and will include ‘Witchcraft’, the second and latest top 40 single from ‘Immersion’. Under the terms of the deal, the track is also the official soundtrack to the game’s trailer.

The group’s next single ‘The Island’ is available from September 20th on Earstorm / Warner Bros. Records, and they recently announced a major UK arena tour.

“Pendulum’s track is a real added value for the game, delivering even more rhythm and excitement to make WRC the unique rallying experience all petrol-head gamers won’t miss!” said Fabrizio Vagliasindi, Strategic Marketing Coordinator at Black Bean Games.

“Pendulum’s pacey, visceral music is the perfect fit with this racing game, enhancing its exhilarating mood. This game is a great way for the band to reach existing fans and make new ones at time when, three months after release, the album is still in the top thirty and their brilliant new single is on the way” said Ali Johnson, Senior Director, Synch Licensing at Warner Music UK.

WRC FIA World Rally Championship will be available in store on the 8th of October 2010 for PlayStation®3, Xbox®360 and PC.

Black Bean Have Released New Screenshots And A Behind The Scenes Video For WRC

Black Bean have released new screenshots and a Behind The Scenes video for WRC. The first couple of screenshots are from in-game action, revealing how the games HUD looks. the HUD is fairly Minimal, with speed and car condition on the bottom right, current lap time top right, you position in the track on the left, and the upcoming direction changes above the car in the middle. The rest of the screenshots are in-game but they don't have a HUD. they do show 3 types of circuits, snow, desert, and a muddy town, and how each of the different environments effects the look of the car with stuff like mud.

The behind the scenes Video has many developers, who are working on the game, talking about what they have been doing to make the game as good and authentic as they could, whilst also trying to explain how they've had to improve on their own technology as this game is very different from anything they've worked on before. the video is split into sections, with developers talking about their area of work. it starts of with the games lead designer, then its the physics lead designer, he's followed by the games director, the art director, and the games track artist. some in-game gameplay is shown during the video, but they also show video from tools the teams use to measure physics, to build tracks, and more. its a very indepth and honest look into how they are making WRC.
