Sony Online Entertainment Announce Dragon's Prophet, A Free To Play MMO, Comes Out18th September

Sony Online Entertainment have announced Dragon's Prophet, a game developed by Infernum Productions and Runewalker Entertainment, is set to come out on 18th September. Dragon's Prophet is a free to play massively multiplayer online role playing game. the game is currently in open beta.

The game is described as:
"In Dragon’s Prophet players must choose from four distinct player classes – ranger, sorcerer, guardian or oracle – and band together to battle a variety of dragons and beasts as they work to restore order to the land from the evil Black Dragon that has escaped his eternal prison, and is more dangerous than ever. Featuring an action-based combat system, Dragon’s Prophet gives players visceral battle action gameplay, with a higher degree of control and wider range of tactical options than traditional MMOs."

On the UI front, we've got a couple enhancements that players have been asking for, some of the big ones include:

• The ability to separate the customized colors for players and facilities. Now, player and vehicle indicators on the map and hud can be colored with one setting and capture nodes, terminals, territory control and facilities with another.

• Capture progress bars on the map now animate to denote the direction the capture progress is heading, so you can more quickly understand if it's being captured or resecured.
• Capture progress bars on the HUD now show a time remaining, to be consistent with those on the map.
• Ability to preview items which are in a bundle
• Ribbons and stats now show correctly for vehicle weapons

Bug Fixes:

As always we've fixed a ton of bugs, some of the highlights include:

• Hitting WARP on a continent on the Warpgate map should now put you in the queue more reliably when the continents are heavily loaded
• Vanguard shield should no longer incorrectly drop when taking small amounts of damage from certain weapons
• Fixed an issue where two helmets appeared to be equipped simultaneously
• Many, many more!

Sony Online Entertainment Have Released A New Behind The Scenes Look At Music In PlanetSide 2

Sony Online Entertainment have released a new behind the scenes look at PlanetSide 2. this video focuses on the music in the game. this video features members of the music team talking about what they wanted each faction to sound like and also revealing they had a technical issue in the music print outs that had to be corrected on the fly by the conductor.

The music is conducted by Jeff Broadbent, in describing the music for each faction he said:

"For the Terran Republic, noble brass, soaring strings, massive percussion, and choir highlights propelled the action. Recorded by the Northwest Sinfonia, their score is a massive, mighty tribute to the military power of this faction. The blues-rock of the New Conglomerate infused a grass-roots vibe to this rebellious faction, while the blending of modern percussion gave a technological edge to their sound. The pulsing synths, evolving electronics, spiritual wind instruments and vocals of the Vanu Sovereignty conceived a sound that is both progressive and timeless, a symbol of their vision for the future and reliance upon ancient technology."

Sony Online Entertainment have released a new trailer for DC Universe Online. this video is for the upcoming Last Laugh DLC. The Last Laugh will include an all-new weapon, hours of multiplayer gameplay in the Safe Houses and Headquarters, and new Legends PvP characters:

• The Shield – Players can unleash this vicious new weapon to bash their opponents, or hurl it to take them down from a distance.
• Safe House Battles – No one is safe now that heroes and villains can invade each other’s Safe Houses in these four on four battles.
  • Graviton Technology Recovery – Players will be tasked with unscrambling teleporter codes that The Joker has mixed into fragments. Located at the Watchtower or Hall of Doom, players must retrieve eight code fragments to successfully rebuild useable teleporter codes.
  • The Rescue – Heroes must rescue hostages, while Villains will be freeing arrested criminals from opposing Safe Houses.
  • Bomb Disposal – Thanks to The Joker, the encryption on the Email terminals has changed and can only be bypassed by the robot he provided. Players must gain control of the robot and either upload the data to their HQ or add new encryption to keep their enemies and The Joker away from it.
• Headquarter Battles – In this two-part crusade, 16 players – eight heroes and eight villains – will face off for the ultimate player reward. At the request of Superman, heroes must take over the Hall of Doom, while villains, egged on by The Joker, will breach the Watchtower in order to create chaos.
• Legends Characters – Combat illuminates with the introduction of the first light-powered Legends for multiplayer combat. Players will soon have access to Kilowog, a Green Lantern, and Amon Sur, a member of the Sinestro Corps.

Sony Online Entertainment have provided details on the Alert, 2 raids, and duos:

• Themyscira – Experience a new Raid on Wonder Woman’s home island that pits players against Chimeric Brainiacs and ultimately, the deadly Avatar of Magic. Players will fight alongside mythical creatures such as Cyclops, Hydra and Colossus, while simultaneously protecting key units of Amazons and Beastimorphs.
  
  
• South Gotham Brainiac Invasion – Super-charged action continues as players battle Brainiac’s invasion force in the streets of South Gotham, the Courthouse Alert and new Duos. Working to stop Brainiac’s Union – formed by the people trapped inside the bottled buildings – who are constructing Proto-Avatars to assault Gotham, players will be challenged to rise up and defend Earth against Brainiac’s final assault.
  
  
• The Prime Battleground – The Battle for Earth storyline leads players into an epic battle in which they must fight all three of Brainiac’s newly completed Prime Avatars, and then Brainiac himself. Sony Online Entertainment have announced there are now over 20 Million registered Free Realms users. the game was released back in 2009 and is now playable on PC, Mac, And Playstation 3. to celebrate this, Sony Online Entertainment have revealed that players who log into Free Realms from 21st October to 31st October will get a varsity letterman jacket for each of their characters.

Sony Online Entertainment have also detailed the Free Realms Spooktacular in-game event. from 24th October to 7th November players can log in and take part in events like a Vampire vs Werewolf dance-off. there will also be Halloween costumes.

Sony Announce 60,000 PSN and 33,000 SOE Accounts Have Been Comprimised

Sony have announced an attempt was made to login into a massive set of PSN and Sony Online Entertainment Accounts. it appears the login attempts were made using data that was stolen from other companies, sites, and sources. Sony say the majority of these login attempts failed, but there have been some compromised. in all 60,000 PSN and 33,000 SOE accounts were compromised.

Sony say NO credit card information was stolen. all those affected accounts have been temporarily locked. each account is being reviewed to make sure what accessed it was authorised or not. it is possible those compromised accounts may have had money spent on the PSN Store, if this is the case Sony will restore your PSN Wallet amounts.

All those compromised accounts will require a password reset. Sony has sent out an email to all those affected, via the email associated with your PSN Account, the same applies to SOE accounts.

Recoil Games and Sony Online Entertainment have released a launch trailer for Rochard. Rochard is out now on the PS3 PSN across the EU and in the USA. Rochard is voiced by John St. John and it tells the story of how Rochard and his team discovers an alien artefact that can save humanity, but he has to fight his way through pirates and rescue his team first. Rochard only has his wits and a G-Lifter gun which allows him to manipulate gravity.

Sony Online Entertainment have announced DC Universe Online is going to be a Free To Play Game. there will be 3 levels of access. the free to play access with be called Free Access, Premium Access opens when you spend at least $5 in game, Legendary access grants you access to everything and costs $14.99 a month.

The Game will no longer be sold at retail, but those who have recently purchased the game can still sign up and play, and those who have used the retail disc to play can continue to do so. all existing players who are paying a monthly subscription will be granted Legendary access. all players who have previously played the game but are currently not playing will be granted Premium Access.
