Avanquest Software has announced that
it will exclusively handle UK retail distribution of Telltale Games’
award-winning The Walking Dead on Xbox 360® video game and
entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer
entertainment system and on PC.
Previously only available as a digital download in the UK, this new retail release compiles all 5 episodes of the game series on one disc and is set to launch on May 10th.
The Walking Dead has earned Game of the Year honours from over 80 media outlets including Metacritic, USA Today, Wired, E! Online, Yahoo!, The Telegraph, Mashable, Polygon, and GamesRadar, and recently won theBAFTA Video Games Awards for Best Story and Best Mobile Game.
Simon Reynolds, European Games Director of Avanquest Software says “We are delighted to have secured the distribution agreement for The Walking Dead, in what will be our first ever games release for PS3 and Xbox 360. The Walking Dead is set in the world of Robert Kirkman's award-winning comic book series. In events that foreshadow the story of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes, players take on the role of Lee Everett, a convicted criminal, who has been given a second chance at life in a world devastated by the undead. The Walking Dead offers an emotionally-charged game experience, where a player's actions and choices affect how their story plays out.
The Walking Dead is rated '18' for 'extreme violence, violence towards defenceless people and strong language' by PEGI.
The Walking Dead is also available to download for Macintosh Computers from the Telltale Online Store and other digital outlets and is available for compatible iOS devices from the App Store.
