CA—April 19, 2012— UTV Ignition Games today announced
that Dragon’s Crown will be published by Atlus. Developed
by Vanillaware, the 2D action RPG will be available in multiple
formats, including PlayStation®Vita.
UTV Ignition has now exited from all internal development of Dragon’s Crown, with Atlus acquiring the publishing rights. “While we are saddened to no longer be associated with the Dragon’s Crown project, we are very confident that the title is in excellent hands with Atlus,” stated Lokesh Dhar, senior vice president of UTV Ignition Entertainment. “Since the initial announcement, information on timing and features in the game have changed and other details regarding design and functionality are yet to be determined. We are confident that Atlus and Vanillaware will deliver the finest game possible.”
In Dragon’s Crown, players take the role of one of six adventurers who must roam labyrinths in search of treasure and the legendary “Dragon’s Crown.” With 2D multiplayer action, up to four players can connect around the world to play through the game together.

Inc., today announced that it has acquired North American
publishing rights for Dragon's Crown™, a cooperative action
RPG for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and
PlayStation®Vita (PS Vita) handheld entertainment system. The
transfer of licensing rights from UTV Ignition Entertainment to Index
Digital Media, Inc. only affects the title's publishing and
distribution; Dragon's Crown is still being developed by
Vanillaware.
Originally to be published by UTV Ignition Entertainment, the game will now be produced, published, and distributed by ATLUS, whose acclaimed creative team will assist developer Vanillaware in resuming and completing work.
