I thought it was going to be a quiet week, but it was pretty full of 3DS stuff and plenty of trailers/screenshots for games that are about to come out. I'm pleased I got some serious Football Manager 10 game time in and I also completed Mini Ninjas. My parents getting me Pokèmon HeartGold was amazing and that and the demos i've played have filled the few gaps when i'm not busy.
Football Manager 10 – PC – I managed to get a couple of days playing in and got promoted, by winning the league, and now i'm working my way through December in my first season in the premiership. I'm just below the mid table and thankfully there's a decent gap between the bottom 3 and the rest of the table. I've got in some players on the cheap and when I looked good for promotion the season before I sorted out contracts so I wouldn't have to spend lots of money doing contracts this season. The board surprised me by expanding the training and stadium and i'm comfortably making money each month.
Mini Ninjas – PS3 – I completed the game, with most of the trophies, and enjoyed it throughout. The last level is difficult and forced me to slow down and use more strategy than I had so far in the game. I will say the last level and last boss could make you “sea sick” as the camera is used in such a way that I could give that effect. Overall though its a very solid game. I admit its perhaps aimed at a younger audience than myself and I do recommend it if your looking for a game for young teens or someone more a casual gamer. If your into trophies, this game is great. It is possible to get them all in 1 go. I failed in that, leaving me with 3 to get. At the time of writing this i'm down to 1.
God Of War: Ghost Of Sparta – Demo – PSP – This is a good demo. You get to experience many facets of God Of War Gameplay and get to face off not just against the little enemies but also against monster sized enemies. The gameplay is solid, the graphics are amazing, and the demo is non-stop action, but never too frantic. If your into the God Of War style gameplay, even if its just on consoles, this is well worth downloading and the size of the demo is only around 97MB.
Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 3 – Demo – PSP – Those who keep up with the blog know i've gotten into Naruto recently. I'm waiting for Ninja Storm 2 to be released and I have Broken Bonds in my rent que, so I had a look what else is out. This is one of the highest rated Naruto games on the PSP but I don't think the demo does it justice. You only get 4 fighters and a few locations to fight in. the levels look great, but with 4 fighters on the screen, forcing the screen to zoom out, they don't look that great. It plays fine, the controls are manageable. If your into Naruto and looking for a handheld fighter, this is worth a look as it's up to date with the Pain Saga. The demo is only around 66 MB.
Pokèmon Heart Gold – DS – My Parents know I love Pokèmon and that I don't have this game. They found it cheap and got it as a present. Fair to say i've been playing it when I can. I only have 2 badges so far but I am about to fight the next gym leader. Its strange playing this game as I had Gold on the GBC and still think its probably the best Pokèmon game i've played, I still remember the routes, the Pokèmon, and it feels great playing the game again.
Did you manage to play more games than I have over the week, or do you have any comments on my experiences or questions about the games i've played? If you do, feel free to add them in the comments section.
I played some Greg Hastings Paintball 2, on the Wii. I only played it about 30 minutes to an hour, but I enjoyed the little bit I played of it.
ReplyDeleteI should be playing it more this week.
