It was Tokyo Game Show this week and it was hard to say, before it started, how busy it was going to be. Turns out it was busy for a couple of days but it was mostly just announcements of new games without much else. This meant I did get some gaming in. the new rented game this week is Mini Ninjas and I also got a couple of demos in.
Football Manager 10 – PC – I haven't played much, spent the time needed to get the team ready for January, transfers, contracts, and what not. Got into January but not done much else.
Final Fantasy XIII – PS3 – I only played a little of this game and I really don't have anything to add over what i've said in previous weeks.
Mini Ninjas – PS3 – This is my new rented game. From the off I enjoyed the game's charm and art style. The music is great and fits well with the game and the controls are perfect and work great. I can see how people looked at the graphics and thought that this is a kids game, and perhaps their right, but i'm onto the second boss and i'm enjoying myself. For a game, its a good game. I've started the game on Hard as I expected it to be perhaps a tad easy and on hard i'm enjoying it. Its not crazy hard, nor is it easy. I'll comment as I go on if playing on hard was the right choice.
Space Invaders Infinity Gene– PS3 – Demo – I've heard many good things about the iPhone version of this game and i've been waiting for the console version since it was announced. I don't have money to buy the game, but the demo is fun. The demo is short and I got through it In maybe 10 minutes, but it is very clear that this game is crazy. Not crazy in a bad way, crazy in a good way and because its Space Invaders, all the crazy stuff on screen that happens feels somewhat familiar and works.
Enslaved: Odyssey To the West – PS3 – Demo – Namco Bandai have put out several vids and screenshots for this game so i've been very aware that its coming. I have been thinking about trying out the game so when the demo came I jumped to the chance. The Demo is a good demo, it lets you experience fighting and platforming and also provides enough of a glimpse of back story and what's going to happen in the game for you to make a choice whether to get it or not. The game looks great, the controls take a little time to adjust to, but the game takes this into account. I'd recommend not playing around with the camera as the game tends to do a good job. If I had the money I would get this game, its more action and frantic than Uncharted, but with its amazing platforming, and less combo heavy than God Of War, but with its use of a weapon.
Did you manage to play more games than I have over the week, or do you have any comments on my experiences or questions about the games i've played? If you do, feel free to add them in the comments section.
