Sony Online Entertainment Announce Free Realms Trading Cards With A Users Own Characters

Sony Online Entertainment have announced a program where players of Free Realms can get their own characters printed onto Free Realms games cards. in collaboration with Topps, Topps Print On Demand Technology is used to create packs of 10 digital and physical trading cards. the physical cards come with a code which unlocks the digital versions.
This service will cost $12 and is currently only available in the USA (Excluding Maine)

DENVER, CO. – August 19, 2009 – Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE) today announced an all-new program for the Free Realms™ Trading Card Game that puts players in the game like never before. Duelist On Demand utilizes the new Topps print-on-demand technology which allows players to create physical and digital trading cards featuring their in-game characters.

“This print-on-demand option gives Free Realms players an entirely new way to immerse themselves into the game, with a unique, physical Topps trading card,” said Scott Martins, Director of Development, SOE Denver. “Imagine creating a trading card based on your in-game character and then trading it with your friends for their personalized card. It’s as if you are passing out your very own Free Realms business cards.”

The Free Realms Trading Card Game Duelist On Demand pack contains 10 physical trading card game cards, each with a unique code that unlocks a digital version of the card for play within the Free Realms online trading card game. Players will have the ability to level up their character, dress them in a variety of outfits, and turn their character into an actual card to shuffle and play in their decks. Each 10-card Duelist On Demand Pack is available for $12 USD (plus applicable taxes) for purchase in the United States only (excluding Maine residents)..
