Nintendo have announced that the Nintendo Wii Balance Board has been awarded a Guinness World Record for “The
best-selling personal weighing device”. Since its release and November 2010, the Wii Balance Board sold over 32,114,428 units worldwide. over 22M were sold in the Wii Balance Board + Wii Fit Bundle and over 9M were sold in the Wii Balance Board + Wii Fit Plus Bundle.
Zenimax Media have announced a settlement has been reached with Interplay in the lawsuit between Bethesda, a Zenimax Subsidiary, and Interplay. Bethesda were seeking cancellation of Interplay's Fallout License, Interplay were developing a Fallout MMO. Bethesda maintained that Interplay failed to meet the conditions for the license.
The settlement sees the license granted to Interplay to develop a Fallout MMO become Null and Void and all the rights granted to Interplay have reverted back to Bethesda. Zenimax will pay Interplay $2 Million and each party will pay their own legal costs.
Capcom have released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. this cinematic trailer is titled Triple Threat, and it shows how the 3 enemies deal with each other in Raccoon City.
AT&T have revealed their data plans for the 3G PS Vita. there is no long term contract, instead its a month to month plan of either $19.99 for 250MB or $25 for 2GB. PS Vita owners will also get free access to more than 29,000 AT&T Wi-Fi
hotspots across the USA.
AT&T have also announced gamers who activate their 3G and Wifi PS Vita with an AT&T data plan will get to choose 1 free game to download. unfortunately, the list of games is not currently available, but it will be released at http://us.playstation.com/psvita/att/
Warner Bros have announced Mortal Kombat
Komplete Edition. this is last years Mortal Kombat complete with all the DLC released for the game. this edition is coming to Both the PS3 and Xbox 360 on 2nd March. Only the PS3 version of the game will come with Kratos.
The DLC adds 4 characters to the game, Skarlet, Kenshi, Rain, and Freddy Krueger. 15 Klassic skins and 3 Klassic fatalities are also included.
Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition. this new version comes out 17th January in the USA for $39.99. As well as Gran Turismo 5 version 2.0, this edition comes with the Racing Car Pack, Car Pack 2, Course Pack, Racing Gear Pack, and Paint Pack DLC.
There will also be a reversible game sleeve featuring the Red Bull X2011 supercar.
Sony have announced this edition will not be coming to the PSN because the size of the game would make the download feasible. Save games from the original version of Gran Turismo 5 will be compatible will Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition.
