Sony Online Entertainment have revealed the next expansion for EverQuest II is Destiny Of Velious. this expansion follows on from the events of Sentinels Fate where the the twin Swords of Destiny, Soulfire and the Qeynos Claymore, have been drained of their powers, setting the stage for the destruction of the EverQuest universe. to save Norrath, the swords need to be restored. EverQuest II is Destiny Of Velious is set to come out on 11th February 2011.

Sony Online Entertainment have announced Battlegrounds, a PvP expansion for EverQuest II. Battlegrounds is for players with characters levelled 80-90. The Expansion will come with 3 maps where players can engage in PvP against their friends or foes, not matter what server they are on.
The Battlegrounds expansion will come out on 16th February. Players who login between 16th Feb - 18th Feb will also receive a Warrior Of Chaos Statue.
The Three Battlegrounds are:
Battlefield of Ganak • Game Type: Capture the Flag • Players: 6 Person Group • Environment: Outdoor arena with two large oppositional bases with intersecting interiors • Objective: Capture the enemy's flag located within their base and return it to your base with your flag still in place • Win Condition: First team to successfully capture and return three flags wins

Sony Online Entertainment have announced that current and eligible former players of EverQuest II can now take part in the Will of A Tyrant Event. this is the second pre-launch event for the Sentinels Fate Expansion for Everquest II.
The Will Of A Tyrant update brings city festivals back to the game, with the first starting in January 2010. there will be new Daily Tradeskill Missions and hundreds of bug fixes across the game.

In Freeport, Lucan D'Lere is missing and the city has erupted in chaos. The rule of law is gone and blood runs in the streets as Lucan's would-be successors vie for power over the great city. Players must uncover the mystery behind his disappearance and who is responsible for this unprovoked attack.
The city of Qeynos is unharmed for now, but enemies of the city hide in plain sight everywhere awaiting the perfect moment to unleash their plan. One of Antonia Bayle's closes advisors has gone missing, and it is up to the players to help find him.
EQII players who left the game with their account in good standing within the past two years are also invited to participate in the pre-launch event with up to three weeks of free play. From Dec. 9-31, 2009, players can log in using their former account and receive EverQuest II The Shadow OdysseyTM trial access. Sony Online entertainment have announced this years Halloween events for their online games.
Free Realms is getting a Spooktacular in its latest update. there will be new decorations, trick or treating, mini games, 14 new quests, 2 new trading game packs, and more than 35 new costumes. The Spooktacular will run from October 14th through to November 11th.
Everquest has a Harvester Haunt. there will be new quests and awards. also, players have to track down a gravedigger called Edmund Strangeways in the Plane Of Knowledge. this even is scheduled to run from October 24th to November 7th.
Everquest II has the Nights Of The Dead. there will be a new Haunted Hedgemaze in Nektulos Forest, a Haunted Mansion in Loping Planes as well as buildings decorated and trick or treating in Qeynos and Freeport. there will also be new quests and ghosts wondering around. this event is set to run from October 16th to November 9th.
Legends of Norrath players will have to save the citizens from Riverale from a Zombie invasion. the new scenario, called Brraaaaaainss!, will be open to new and existing players, and will be free. those who are successful in defeating the zombies will receive promo cards to EverQuest or EverQuest II. this scenario runs from October 15th to November 11th.
Star Wars Galaxies have a Galactic Moon Festival to take part in at either Moenia or Mos Eisley. there will be new costumes as well as the return of the Burning Ewok Costume. this will begin on October 20th.
Sony Online Entertainment have released a trailer and screenshots for the newest expansion for Everquest II. the trailer talks about the history behind the expansion, whilst the screenshots show many of the characters and locations that have been added with this expansion. As well as introducing this new story, the expansion also brings Chronomagic to the game. Chronomagic can be used to down-tier you level so you can experience content that you may have missed whilst you were levelling up. an achievement system has also been added to the game as well as all people with houses will receive a new room.
