What Have You Played This Week?
It was a very busy week for news, and i imagine its only going to get busier with E3 around the corner, which meant i didn't spend much time playing games. i did manage to Finish Enchanted Arms and i had a good time playing it. but my HD TV died on me and i don't know if i want to use my back up 15" CRT TV to play PS3 and 360 games. the Wii looks fine on it so i may play some Wii games. it'll be interesting to see what Swapgame sends next as Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max is already in the post.
Football Manager 10 – PC – after having my pallet cleanesed with FC Bayern, i've decided to try something more diffuclt. I'm now manager of Conference South team, Havant & Waterlooville. So far i'm in the top half of the table and doing well.
Enchanted Arms – PS3 – yep I finished Enchanted Arms. And you know what, its not bad at all. I wasn't far from the end and I took the time out to get the god weapons just before the final area so in all I think it took me around 33 hours to complete the game. As i've said before, the graphics are not the best, in fact there was a point where a river appeared to have had its water replaced with a mirror, and the game mechanics are rather simple. But these things are fine. The simple mechanics make the large amount of random battles you face easy to get through, and yet offer a nice level of difficulty for bosses. The story may feel bland in places, whilst other things you can see coming a mile away. But there are still moments of great story, things you don't see coming, and it cleverly reveals everything throughout. I recommend staying for the credits as more story is revealed during them. For a PS3 RPG, Enchanted Arms is not the best. But it is a good RPG, its very accessible, and the ability to save anywhere makes it great to pick up and play in short bursts. I do recommend people play it, not just as a RPG fan, but also those interested in giving RPGs a go.
Monsters (probably) Stole My Princess– Minis – PS3 – I was curious to see how this newer Mini would look like on the PS3. The sound is great but the graphics don't really hold up that well. The games style is designed to be played on the PSP where it really does look amazing.
Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max – PSP – I wanted to give this ago as I was mainly curious to see what it looked and played like. This is the newest game that Swapgame sent me and i'll be honest and say I spent 1 day with it before sending it back. This does not mean the game is bad, far from it. The graphics look good and it plays very well on the PSP, the Ai is ok, and I had fun playing it. But it's not really a single player game and whilst I gave nearly all the modes a go, I didn't feel the game offered much in a single player experience.
Uncharted 2 - PS3 - i quicky dove into the Multiplayer to basically see what it would look liek on my old CRT TV i had at uni. its playable but its hard going from a 32" HD TV to a 15" 4:3 CRT TV...thats a good decade old.

The Debut trailer for Red Faction Armageddon has been released. the trailer appears to be all from in-game footage and provides some back story for this game and finishes with some action against the new enemy.

Atari have released new screenshots and a fact sheet for Test Drive Unlimited 2. The screenshots Atari have released focus on a few cars, showing them either in a garage or in the specific locations, for example the Audi Q7 in an off road location. The Fact sheet details many of the new or improved features in this years game, like the game/island has over 600km of roads to race on, you are able to customise your cars, the game is always live, and the dynamic weather and night and day modes.

Namco Bandai Have Released New Screenshots for Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2
Namco Bandai have released new screenshots for the upcoming Nartuo game on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. These Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 screenshots mostly show battles between Pain and Jiraiya, Naruto and Kakuzu, and Hidan and Asuma, in a variety of locations. there are also a couple of screenshots of Naruto running through a town.

This Weeks UK WiiWare, DSiWare, And Virtual Console Releases
Nintendo UK have revealed the games coming out today on DSiWare and WiiWare. unfortunately, there are no virtual console releases this week, but there are 6 new titles this week, 2 on WiiWare and 4 on DSiWare. i have included screenshots for games where i can. Square Enix have released a new trailer for Deus Ex: Human Revolution. this trailer starts off from the teaser trailer they had previously released before moving into all new CGi footage. the trailer shows many of the abilities of the main character, as well as his augmentations, and reveals some of the backstory for the game.

EA have announced that Andrew Stone, from Starman, has been immortalised as a Sim. this Sim can now be downloaded via the Sims 3 Exchange globally. EA have released a video of him at EA studios, seeing his Sim for the first time, as well as some screenshots of Andrew Stone's Sim in the game and them together.

Capybara Games Announce Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes Is Coming To The Playstation 3 In September [Update]
Capybara Games have announced that they and Ubisoft are brining Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes to the Playstation 3 this September. it is unclear if this HD version of Might & Magic is exclusive to the Playstation 3 or if the Xbox 360 will get it as well. there currently already exists a Nintendo DS version of this game made by Capybara.

Sega Announce Shogun2: Total War Is Coming To PC's In 2011
Sega have announced Shogun 2: Total War for the PC. this is the sixth game in Creative Assembly's Total War Series and the sequel to Shogun: Total War. this game is set in 16th Century Feudal Japan and the once unified government is now split into warring clans. in the game, you take on the role of one of these Daimyo, a Clan Leader, and you have to unite Japan once more under your leadership. Shogun 2: Total War is currently set for a 2011 release on PC.
Each of the clans that make up Japan, at this time, are playable have they each have their own characteristics. Shogun 2: Total War will have 3D sea and land battles as well as a new AI system that takes inspiration from scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, like the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”. Sega have released Concept art for the game. each piece represents a aspect of the game and Sega have provided a caption for each of them detailing what they show. just click the speech bubble to read it.

Sony have released the first trailer for Killzone 3. this first trailer is more like a stylish teaser trailer with no gameplay shown, but it does show some aspects of Killzone 3 gameplay like the new brutal Melee combat system. the trailer also ends with a ISA soldier putting on a Helghast Helmet.

Commentary on The Final:
The Final itself was an epic battle as Brazil put on a dazzling display of free-flowing samba style football early on against the Spaniards, taking a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute with a Felipe Melo strike from just inside the box. It didn’t take long for Spain to level the score after a goalie error that left striker David Villa in the clear. He tapped in his 6th goal of the tournament in the 42nd minute. The second half saw fortunes turn in favour of Spain, as their disciplined build up play and domination of possession paid off with a goal in the 61st minute when Villa connected for his second goal of the match, off of Andres Iniesta’s driven cross. Brazil had several efforts on goal in the final third of the match but couldn’t capitalize on its chances as they pushed all players forward in an attempt to draw even, eventually conceding a splendid counter attack goal in the 88th minute from Cesc Fabregas, which delivered Spain the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

EA have released a new video for Need For Speed World. this video appears to be the first in a series of videos for Need For Speed World that features developers from the game talking about it. in this video they talk about how different it is compared to other Need For Speed titles, like the fact the game is never finished as they'll keep adding to it, and that they are able to do things in the game that they've never been able to do before.

Atari Announce They Are Bringing Blade Kitten To The Xbox 360, Playstation 3, And PC This September
Atari have announced that they are brining Blade Kitten to the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC's this September. Krome Studios had originally announced they were brining Blade Kitten exclusively to the Playstation 3, but it now appears they were unable to do so and now Atari is going to publish the game on multiple platforms. Because of this move to multiplatforms, Blade Kittens original release date of spring has been moved back to September.
Blade Kitten is based on the comic book series created by Steve Stamatiadis. the game will still have 19 levels, but it is unclear if the game will still be the 2 part mini series that it originally was going to be. i imagine this will be cleared up nearer the games release. In Blade Kitten, a prequel to the comics set three years prior, players are invited into the world of Hollow Wish where they take on the role of Kit Ballard, one of the best bounty hunters in the business. With her pink hair and tail, Kit is part cat, part girl - and fully lethal. As one of the last of her species, Kit commands her unique "Darque Blade" hovering sword to defeat enemies. Also along for the ride is Skiffy, Kit's laid-back sidekick who lends a hand in collecting items, solving puzzles, and when needed, serves as Kit's protector.
Blade Kitten goes beyond most downloadable titles to deliver a strong narrative, with high-quality cinematics, and a colorful, frenetic visual style, that lends to the pick-up-and-play arcade action. Players will jump right in and easily begin exploring and fighting their way through 19 levels, including three exploration levels with Noot (a rideable alien mount). Blade Kitten also features straight forward gameplay mechanics, intuitive "scramble style" exploration, fully voiced dialogue, dramatic narrative and powerful visual direction.

EA Have Released A New Trailer For Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt1 Videogame
Following yesterdays announcement that EA are working on 2 Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows videogames that follow the upcoming 2 movies, EA have released the debut trailer for Part 1, the first videogame based on Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. This trailer shows Harry and other wizards fighting against many different enemies in the air and on the ground.
