UTV Ignition have released a new trailer for the Nintendo Wii version of National Geographic Challenge! as well as screenshots for the PS3 version. National Geographic Challenge! is a trivia game and the screenshots and trailer show that you get to choose different avatars to play as, the Wii and 360 versions also allow you to play as your Mii's/Avatars. the game asks trivia questions but it also has other challenges like completing puzzles.

Before I get into the review I would just to apologise for the delay in getting this review up. I had hoped to have it online by Friday, the games release day here in the UK, but I was unable to. So I apologise to my readers and to Temco Koei who were kind enough to send me a review copy of Bleach: Soul Resurrección.

The Good

• Characters look great
• Plenty of replay value
• Easy Controls
• Moves look powerful and destructive

The Bad

• Main game is a bit short
• Loading times a tad long
• Game is a bit tough

Review Summary

Bleach: Soul Resurrección is a hack and slash game, in a similar vein to Dynasty Warriors, but it shouldn't be dismissed for it. Bleach: Soul Resurrección is a great looking game, it successfully brings the Bleach Anime/Manga to the PS3. Whilst the Story mode is short, with only 14 story levels, there are 28 Missions and 9 additional levels in Soul Attack. These extra levels, combined with how the game dishes out trophies and the various difficulty levels, do mean there is plenty of replay with Bleach: Soul Resurrección. The game can get a bit tough in places, but levelling up characters isn't hard. The overall story that is told via the game is pretty lacking, but for Bleach fans who have seen the Anime this is never a problem and it covers most of the main battles and fights. I had fun playing this game and happily recommend it to any Bleach fan, Hack And Slash Fans, or PS3 gamers looking for a fun challenge.

UTV Ignition And Eiconic have announced they are bringing a new Mercury game to the PS3 PSN from next week, Tuesday 27th in the USA and Wednesday 28th in UK/EU. the game consists of 120 levels spread across the main game and upcoming DLC, they are designed to take no longer than 2 minutes each to complete, as well as 40 bonus levels. there are also 20 challenge levels, again across DLC and Main Game. the DLC for Mercury Hg is set to come out a month or two after Mercury does.

Each level in Mercury Hg has its own leaderboards, so players can aim to be top of who finishes the level fastest or who manages to complete the level with the most Mercury. Square Enix have announced Final Fantasy XIII-2 is set to come out in the USA on 31st January 2012. Final Fantasy XIII-2 is the sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, a game which shipped over 6.2 Million units worldwide. 

Square Enix have provided a prologue for Final Fantasy XIII-2 (Warning FFXIII Spoilers):

Nintendo Announce Tetris On The 3DS Comes Out In The USA On 2nd October And 21st October In The UK

Nintendo have announced the release dates for the upcoming 3DS Tetris Game. Tetris Axis, as it is known in the USA, is set to come out their on 2nd October. Tetris, as it is known in the EU, will come out across Europe from 21st October.

Tetris comes with over 20 game modes, including traditional modes like Marathon and new additions like the Augmented Reality Modes. the game supports local multiplayer for up to 8 people, this can also be done with other 3DS owners downloading the game from a single user. There are World Battle and Friend Battle modes for online multiplayer.

Spot Pass is used to bring new items to Tetris for use in the games Fever Mode. you can import pictures from your 3DS, or use those in the game, for Jigsaw Mode.

Ubisoft have also announced that Assassin's Creed II and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will be discounted on the PSN by 30%.

Sony Announce PS3 Firmware Update 3.72, The Update Is Out Now

Sony have detailed PS3 firmware update 3.72. They say its a minor update, it improves system stability during the use of PS3 software and The PSN. i personally found that the update downloaded very quick. i can't see any changes, but the PS3 does feel like it boots quicker and the folders load quicker. i've been having a PS+ issue with automatic downloads but its too early to tell if this has fixed it.
