Capcom Announce Dead Rising 2: Case 0 Is Coming Out On XBLA For 400 MS Points On 31st August
Capcom have announced that Dead Rising 2: Case 0, the Xbox Live Arcade Exclusive Prequel to Dead Rising 2, is set to come out on 31st August for 400 MS Points. Dead Rising 2 is released afterwards, on 28th September in the USA, 30th September in Japan, and the EU and Australia on 1st October.
Capcom have also revealed that for those who buy Dead Rising 2 on the Xbox 360 after playing Dead Rising 2: Case 0 will be able to carry over character attributes from Case 0 into Dead Rising 2. these include things like Player level, up to level 5, Prestige Points, Combo Cards, and alternate outfits.
Press Release
London, UK – July 22nd, 2010 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising® 2: CASE ZERO, will be available on August 31st exclusively to Xbox 360® gamers via Xbox Live® Arcade online gaming service from Microsoft at a cost of 400MPs. A unique and stand alone piece of content, Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO acts as a prologue, introducing players to the main protagonist, Chuck Greene and provides a glimpse of the action to come when Dead Rising 2 releases in North America on September 28th, Japan on September 30th and throughout European and Australian territories on October 1st.
Set two years after the Willamette incident chronicled in the original Dead Rising® and three years before the start of Dead Rising 2, Chuck along with his young infected daughter, Katey, find themselves trapped in the zombie infested desert town of Still Creek. It’s up to Chuck to find a way out of town, and locate the Zombrex Katey must take to prevent her from joining the ranks of the undead.
Just like in the full game, players in Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will use Chuck’s handyman skills and a roll of duct tape to combine two items to create powerful combo weapons. Not only do combo weapons make killing zombie sprees more fun but they also have the added benefit of earning Chuck additional ‘Prestige Points’ which in turn result in quicker levelling up.
Players who download Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO and then go on to buy Dead Rising 2 will be able to carry over character attributes earned such as ‘Player Level’, to a maximum of five, ‘Prestige Points’ alongside skills, ‘Combo Cards’ and a number of alternate outfits.
“With Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO we had two goals: provide newcomers with an easy point of entry to the Dead Rising universe, and give fans of the series an insight into what took place after Frank West survived the outbreak at the Willamette Mall,” said Keiji Inafune, Capcom’s Head of R&D Management Group and Executive Producer for Dead Rising 2. “We have certainly achieved both of these ambitions but I am equally pleased that we are able to give gamers so much unique and entertaining content at such a great price.”

Press Release
An epic battle between creativity and chaos is brewing in LEGO Universe. Darklings are on the attack, and the Nexus Force is calling on all brave Minifigures to defend against the Maelstrom before it snuffs out the heart of LEGO Universe – Imagination.
In hopes of recruiting new members at Comic-Con, Nexus Force leaders - the founding explorers of LEGO Universe - have released new images straight from the battlefield. New screenshots show the Nexus Force in action, taking on negative Maelstrom forces and putting creativity to work, from Gnarled Forest and Forbidden Valley to Pet Cove, personal properties and beyond. Nexus Force members are also busy building some truly impressive creations to help restore Imagination levels.
Two new videos have also emerged from LEGO Universe this week. The first gives an inside look at Pet Cove, and the second new video introduces the four Factions that compose the Nexus Force alliance: Assembly, Sentinels, Paradox and Venture League. Each Faction embodies a different spirit of play – something for everyone – imaginative builders, chivalrous warriors, cunning ninjas and adventurous explorers. All four Factions are dedicated to protecting imagination and eliminating the Maelstrom. They desperately need your help to battle darkness when LEGO Universe launches this October.
Additionally, a third new video tells the tale of the LEGO Universe Partners (LUP) program – a group of mega LEGO fans who are working alongside professional developers to build the game. In the video, Steve Barker, an inspiring brick designer and lead LUP, takes you behind the scene. Steve is also on the LEGO Universe panel at Comic-Con this Sunday.
LEGO Universe is on display this week at San Diego Comic-Con, from July 22 – 25. Attendees can stop by the LEGO booth (#2829) to take advantage of live game demos, booth giveaways, art signings, and special pre-order bonus gifts. The creative minds behind LEGO Universe will give an on-stage presentation on Sunday, July 25th at 11:30am (room 5AB), offering a behind-the-scenes look at the process of bringing LEGO worlds to life through storytelling, innovative building and fan collaboration.
