Monday 11thApril 2011 2pm UK – Today Codemasters® released a new co-op gameplay video for Operation Flashpoint®: Red River™, the all-new chapter in the multi-million selling tactical shooter series. The ‘Co-op Search and Rescue’ video showcases gameplay footage from the CSAR Fireteam Engagement mode, as Fireteam Bravo inserts behind enemy lines to rescue downed pilots in enemy territory. The video is now showing at www.facebook.com/flashpointredriver. Operation Flashpoint: Red River will launch on 21stApril.
Operation Flashpoint: Red River has been developed around co-operative play, whether in the substantial campaign mode or in standalone Fireteam Engagements. Up to four players stand together in drop-in drop-out online co-op, picking one of the fireteam specialists – Rifleman, Automatic Rifleman, Scout and Grenadier – to combine as a fearsome fighting force. Each player can build XP to unlock weapons, skills and modifications for their class, customising their loadouts to suit their preferred style of play.
The ‘Co-op Search and Rescue’ video focuses on one of four standalone Fireteam Engagement modes, where up to four players come together to complete objectives on their own initiative online. In ‘CSAR’ (Combat Search and Rescue) players must extract allied forces stranded behind enemy lines. ‘Combat Sweep’ missions require gamers to eliminate all hostiles in an area of operations and complete additional objectives including destroying weapons caches. ‘Rolling Thunder’ tasks players to escort a convoy through enemy territory and in ‘Last Stand’ the fireteam must hold off increasingly difficult waves of enemy forces before banking their points and extracting.

Level-5 Reveal The Boxart For White Knight Chronicles II And White Knight Chronicles Origins
Level-5 have revealed the boxart for White Knight Chronicles II and White Knight Chronicles Origins. Level-5 have also announced that game saves from White Knight Chronicles will work with the remastered version that's included with White Knight Chronicles II. White Knight Chronicles Origins will be getting a digital release on the PSN as well as its Retail release. Level-5 haven't announced a release date but they do tease its coming soon.
Nintendo Announce They Are Bringing Solatorobo: Red the Hunter To Europe Later This Year On The DS
In Solatorobo: Red the Hunter, the game is set on a floating island called Shepherd Republic and you play as Red Savarin, an anthropomorphic dog with the ability to take a human form. You'll explore the floating island and defeat enemies.

What Have You Played This Week?
Another week and still no 3DS gaming. That will become clear when I do a write up about me and my experience with the 3DS. Writing initial impressions is one thing, but living with it and talking about it is what i'll do. Gaming wise, not much this week. I didn't have much free time so it was more in fits and starts than a proper session. Oh and sorry for the F1 2010 moan, lol.
Football Manager 2010 – PC – Well I got promoted to the Championship. It was a tough season in league 1, but the league was tight and a good run of results at the end got me into the playoffs and I won that. I have a bit of money now but can't expand the stadium, due to council concerns, so i've got the board working on training facilities. This will be tough, I have a small squad and I think i'll have to rely on my youngsters.
Pokèmon White – DS – not much this week but the time was spent preparing for the Ice gym and trying out a few new Pokèmon. My current squad, well the squad i'm going to use at the gym, is Zebstrika, Simisear, Litwick, Dewott, Sigilph, Boldore. There's a good chance Litwick could join my squad and replace Simisear but we'll see.
Formula 1 2010 – PS3 – I've yet to actually start a race in the career mode but I have got in a quick grand prix. I don't know why i'm not falling for this game. I'll try a few more races with different cars, maybe a few more time attacks, but if I don't get into it i'll just send it back. Graphically its fine, cars...well we know my thoughts on the out of date car models, the tracks look fine. I have experienced some strange glitches in my short time with the game, the best being when 2 Renaults parked on the racing line during a practice for the Malaysia GP. I just get a feeling that its missing something, certainly in some areas it needed a bit more polish. One thing that always bugs me is when your in the pits during quali and practice, the guy who says you can leave the pits is always wrong!, lol thank goodness its all auto pilot. I can think of another bug that cost me heavily in a race, I was pitting, it was all going fine, then when the car turns into the pit slot, it got stuck. Instead of going in the gap, the car went into the pit team and stayed there. I couldn't do anything as its all auto pilot. So I went from first to last, I still don't know what fixed it. Its not all bad, but so far it has a very average feel about it. The speed is also strange. Yes I can tell a speed difference between the different cars and a different way in which they handle. But that doesn’t feel replicated in the race experience. Oh and i've not worked out how to activate the F-duct on the McLaren and i'm assuming its not represented in the game. Even writing this is making me feel like sending it back and not giving it more of a chance.
Chime Deluxe – PS3 – I played through the rest of the songs. I'm a bit rusty from the 360 version but it was still fun to play through. The music is just spot on, and whilst some of the stage layouts are a little annoying I feel that's more because I want a Lumines style game to come out because this game is good and reminds me of them.

Sony Have Released A Video Showing The History Of Augmented Reality And Playstation
Sony have released a new video showing the history of Augmented Reality on the Playstation 2, Playstation Portable, Playstation 3, and the upcoming NGP (PSP2). the video shows action and prototypes of several Augmented Reality Games, with a focus on the bigger successes on each platform. its revealed that using a camera on the PS2 happened nearly by accident, they were just seeing what would happen if you attached one to a PS2. they talk about how with more power they're able to use it in different ways, with the PS3 its Playstation Move and with the PSP2 its using Augmented Reality without cards. There is, through most of the video, a dig at Nintendo as Sony do say they did it first and they do Augmented Reality best.

Sony have announced EyePet & Friends for the Playstation 3. this new game is coming out this year and will feature 2 EyePets on the screen at the same time. you can choose to raise them on your own or with friends. you also have the option to try to raise 2 EyePets at the same time, but then can you raise 2 mischievous creatures. The game will also feature a new creativity center where you can expand the world they live in and customise it with your own created content.

Natsume announce they are brining Harvest Moon: The Tale Of Two Towns to both the DS and 3DS to the USA Simultaneously. the story of the game is there were 2 villages who got on well. a dispute erupted over who cooked the better food. you play as a farmer new to the area and get to choose which village you are a part of, either Eastern-styled Konohana with its abundant fields of crops, or the animal-loving, European-styled Bluebell. the aim is to bring both of the villages back together.

Sugar Land, TX - (April 6, 2011) TimeGate Studios announced release dates and loyalty rewards for Section 8: Prejudice, the year’s most robust $15 downloadable shooter. The game rolls out to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft on April 20, 2011; comes to Windows PC via online distributors, including Steam and Games for Windows Marketplace, on May 4, 2011; and hits the PlayStation®Network in Summer 2011.
Section 8: Prejudice features:

TimeGate also unveiled a loyalty rewards program for its dedicated Section 8 fans. TimeGate will unlock Section 8: Prejudice equipment upgrades for players of the original Section 8, based on the Level they attained as of April 20th, 2011. Anyone who played the original Section 8 will instantly unlock Aegis Armor and the Reactive Plating upgrade, while those who reached Level 25 will additionally unlock the Ablative Plating upgrade. The very dedicated players who attained Level 50 will also get the Explosives Amplifier upgrade.
