Press Release

London, UK – July 22nd, 2010 – Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Dead Rising® 2: CASE ZERO, will be available on August 31st exclusively to Xbox 360® gamers via Xbox Live® Arcade online gaming service from Microsoft at a cost of 400MPs. A unique and stand alone piece of content, Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO acts as a prologue, introducing players to the main protagonist, Chuck Greene and provides a glimpse of the action to come when Dead Rising 2 releases in North America on September 28th, Japan on September 30th and throughout European and Australian territories on October 1st.

Set two years after the Willamette incident chronicled in the original Dead Rising® and three years before the start of Dead Rising 2, Chuck along with his young infected daughter, Katey, find themselves trapped in the zombie infested desert town of Still Creek. Just like in the full game, players in Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO will use Chuck’s handyman skills and a roll of duct tape to combine two items to create powerful combo weapons. Gnomic Studios Detail The New Patch For Their Xbox Live Indie Game Square Off

Gnomic Studios have announced that their Xbox Live Indie Game, Sqaure Off, has received its first patch. Lead developer Aranda Morrison says the need for the patch was because "...there were a number of niggling issues with the initial release we wanted to address," but it also opened up the opportunity for Gnomic to add more to the game.

The update brings 2 new Deathmatch levels to the game, as well as tweaks to the Deathmatch mode. a new level has been added to the Single Player and Co-Op mode, whilst the difficulty has been adjusted to make it easier to get into. All the levels now have their own global and friends list score boards. There are now statistics for each level, improved sound effects and new music tracks.

Gnomic Studios have also announced that they recently reduced the price of the game to just 80 MS Points in an experiment to see if price cuts would effect sales of the game and the money they made from it.

Press Release

PERTH, Western Australia - July 19 - Gnomic Studios are proud to announce the first major update of their critically acclaimed Xbox 360 game Square Off, available as of July 19th 2010 via Xbox Live for free.

Lead developer Aranda Morrison explained why we felt Square Off was in need of a major patch. “We decided to work on a free update because there were a number of niggling issues with the initial release we wanted to address," he said. "This turned out to be the perfect opportunity to throw in some bonus content.”

The update includes 2 new Deathmatch levels and a whole multitude of little tweaks to make Deathmatch play substantially more awesome than it was before. For single player and co-operative play, another level has been added, and the difficulty adjusted so the game is both noob friendly and a challenge to veterans.

Every level now has scoreboards for your friend list and your local players in addition to the existing global scoreboard, so now you can know whether you are the toughest square in your crew. Player profile statistics and per level statistics have been included, so no more arguing over who was the weakest link in your team. The sound effects have been improved and new music tracks have been added that we feel suit the game more than some of the original music.

Gnomic recently dropped the price for the game down to a measly $1(80 Ms Points), making it 66% cheaper than the original retail price. According to Lead Tester Joshua Stewart, this was done as an experiment to see the how the price cut affects conversion rates and sales figures. "We plan to make the results of this experiment public sometime soon," he said. "This way the Indie game development community can use this data to help guide their own pricing decisions.”

Additions to the game include a total of 3 new levels, updated AI, local and friend list scoreboards, player statistics, audio improvements and a whole raft of minor tweaks, all for the rather generous price of nothing.

Microsoft Announce Drake is Voicing Jace Stratton In Gears of War 3

Microsoft have announced that Drake is voicing Jace Stratton in Gears of War 3. Jace will be a playable character in the game. Jace Stratton has been a character in the comic books and a character that Epic wanted to bring into a Gears Of War game.

Press Reelase

LONDON – 11th June 2010 - The fastest rising superstar in today’s hip-hop music scene is teaming up with Microsoft Game Studios and Epic Games to lend his voice to the biggest blockbuster game of 2011, “Gears of War 3,” only on Xbox 360. Set to release his much-anticipated debut album, “Thank Me Later,” on June 14, Grammy-nominated recording artist Drake is voicing Jace Stratton, a new playable character in the upcoming finale to one of the most celebrated sagas in video games.

In the finale to one of gaming’s most recognizable sagas, Epic has added four player cooperative campaign gameplay, allowing them to bring characters from the extended “Gears” universe to life.

“Jace is a central character in the comic books, so he was an obvious choice as a character we wanted to bring into the third game,” said Epic Executive Producer Rod Fergusson. “When we began casting for the role, ‘So Far Gone’ had just released and Drake’s combination of heart and grit was just what we were looking for. Rather than search for somebody who sounded like him, it was clear that we should approach him directly… fortunately he turned out to be a huge fan.”

“When Epic came to me with the role, I couldn’t pass it up,” said Drake. “They’ve created an amazing character in Jace, and I’m looking forward to my tour in Delta Squad.”

Developed by acclaimed studio Epic Games and published by Microsoft Game Studios, “Gears of War 3” launches worldwide in April 2011, only on Xbox 360. The “Gears of War” series is one of the most popular franchises in Xbox history, having sold more than 12 million copies worldwide and spawning New York Times best-selling novels, an upcoming film and more.

Drake’s debut album, ‘Thank Me Later,’ arrives in stores in the UK on June 14 from Aspire/ Young Money/ Cash Money/ Universal Motown.

The Third Episode Of The Crackdown 2 Animated Series Has Been Released

The third episode in the Crackdown 2 animated series has gone live. this episode is like a public service announcement and its titled “The Virus: What We Know.” It details warning signs that someone is infected, what to do if an infected finds you, and that their 1 weakness is the sun.

LONDON – 7 June 2010 - Peacekeepers beware! The five-part animated mini-series for “Crackdown 2” rages on today with the third episode, titled “The Virus: What We Know.” Peeling back the layers to uncover the mystery surrounding the Freak virus, this episode reveals the Agency’s Public Service Announcement that’s vital to surviving a Freak attack and infection. Before you embark on your tour of duty as an Agent in “Crackdown 2” when the title releases exclusively for Xbox 360 on July 9, 2010 in Europe, be sure to check out what you’re up against.

Ravaging civilians through bite, burn or scratch, the virus acts incredibly fast to attack, divide and mutate human tissues, creating Freaks of all shapes and sizes…and odours. To keep from falling victim to the Freaks, civilians better listen carefully or suffer the consequences:
The best weapon against infection: Vigilance. See a Freak or infection, report it!
The telltale signs of infection: Unresponsiveness, redness around the eyes, pronounced veins and a distinctive odour.
To ward off a Freak: Scream, confuse it, use big gestures or play dead.
The Freaks’ vulnerability: Light – but the sun won’t always be on your side.

Written by Ruffian Games senior designer, Ed Campbell, and animated by seasoned comic artist and illustrator, Alex Ronald, this telling mini-series chronicles the events that have transpired between the Xbox 360 smash hit “Crackdown” and the highly anticipated sequel, “Crackdown 2.” The highly stylised mini-series tells the tale of the Agency and its fight against new enemies called the Cell (an underground resistance) and the Freaks (mutated civilians ravaging the city).

The five-part animated mini-series will conclude on June 21, 2010. Catch each week’s exclusive debut at YouTube.com/machinima:

Episode Airing Start Date
Episode 3 June 4, 2010
