Atari Announce Star Raiders And Release A Teaser Trailer


Atari Have announced Star Raiders, a franchise that helped create the space combat genre, is coming back and will come out on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC in early 2011. The first Star Raiders game was released back in 1979 and had games released throughout the 80's and 90's. This new Star Raiders game will have all new features for the series including customisable ships and online play whilst also having traditional features like Space Warps and Galactic tactical maps. Atari have announced that Star Raiders will be an Episodic game series but don't say when the other episodes will be released.

The return of Star Raiders will combine tense aerial assaults and dogfights with a compelling new storyline, striking visual style and exhilarating single and multi-player gameplay. Originally released in 1979, Star Raiders became the first ever first-person space combat title, inspiring several generations of “space combat simulation” titles throughout the 80’s and 90’s.  This exciting new take on this Atari treasure will pay tribute to the original while ushering in an all new, captivating episodic experience. Star Raiders will offer familiar battle elements including space warps and galactic tactical maps with all new features like radical battle transformations and customisable ships.

Sega Have Released A New Vanquish Trailer

Sega have released a new trailer for Platinum Games upcoming Shooter for the PS3 and Xbox 360, Vanquish. this trailer focuses on the suit Sam wears, showing some of a cinematic of it being put on Sam, and some in game action of Sam, in the Suit, shooting and attacking enemies.




Sega Announce Crazy Taxi Is Coming To The PS3 And Xbox 360 On 24th November

Sega have announced the HD remake of the Dreamcast game Crazy Taxi is coming to the USA on the PS3 on 23rd November and 24th November on Xbox 360 for $9.99 and 800 MS Points. The Remake is coming out across Europe and Australia on 24th November. This re-make features 720p graphics, 16:9 Widescreen, leaderboards, and trophy awards.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have released a new trailer for Lord of the Rings: Aragorn's Quest. This trailer uses in-game footage to show many of the different locations and enemies in Middle-Earth.




EA Have Released A New Video For Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit

EA have released a new video for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. In this video, Matt Webster from Criterion talks through the Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit AutoLog. He uses in-game examples to help show off many aspects of the AutoLog, including the Wall where you can post pictures and comment/chat with friends and even post gameplay performances that your friends can click on and try to beat. other parts of AutoLog include that it is always seeing what your friends are doing in the game and telling you if your friends have beaten your score. AutoLog also has a recommendation section where it creates challenges based on what your friends are doing.




Sony Announce A Discless Netflix App Is Coming To The PS3 From 18th October [Update]

Sony have announced that a Netflix App that won't require the Netflix App Disc is coming from 18th October. The User Interface has been completely revamped, and support for 1080p and Dolby 5.1 channel surround sound has been added. Sony have released a video showing the App being used and its new features.
