Forza 3 V8 Super Cars

Press Release

V8 Supercar racing is on the rise, quickly becoming a popular spectator sport around the world, in addition to being the fan-favorite race type in Australia and New Zealand. Sept. 11-13 will mark Supercar racing’s L&H 500 Phillip Island, so it’s only fitting that the racing enthusiasts at Turn 10 would reveal that “Forza Motorsport 3” will feature eight versions of the well-known Holden Commodore and Ford Falcon when the game releases on October 22nd in Asia, October 23rd in Europe and October 27th in North America.

Often referred to by fans as a hybrid between NASCAR and the British Touring Car Championships, the V8 Supercar series runs strictly homologated 5.0 liter pushrod V8 engine cars from manufacturers Holden and Ford. The fact that the two cars used by the 19 teams in the league consist of the Holden Commodore and the Ford Falcon is no coincidence; in Australia, both the Commodore and the Falcon are popular people-movers and the drama of the on-track rivalry between Holden and Ford is something unique to pop-culture Down Under. Unlike NASCAR, the V8 Supercar races are held on road courses as opposed to ovals, with drivers battling for position, often with full-contact results.

The team at Turn 10 is pleased to encourage this budding branch of racing, as “Forza Motorsport 3” will include Falcons from Team Vodafone, Ford Performance, Stone Brothers, and Britek Motorsport, and Commodores from Toll Holden Racing, Garry Rogers Racing, Supercheap Auto Racing, and Sprint Gas Racing.

All cars will feature immaculately rendered interiors and extensively reinforced cockpits to handle any collision or rollover, just like their real life counterparts. Players will realistically experience their favorite V8s to a degree that, until now, was only possible in their dreams.
