Team ICO Announce The Last Guardian And The Ico And Shadow Of The Colossus Collection Are Delayed

Sony and Team ICO have announced The Last Guardian and the ICO and Shadow Of The Colossus Collection are both delayed. No new release dates for either game have been provided.

Fumito Ueda, the director and game designer behind The Last Guardian had this to say:
I announced at last year’s Tokyo Game Show that the release timing of The Last Guardian which is currently being developed would be holiday 2011.
However, to provide more challenging and better quality of content to users and to fulfill First Party Studio’s obligations, I decided to postpone its release timing.
All the members of my production team are working together at a fast pace to develop and release the game in First Party Studio quality.
I sincerely apologize to all the customers who have been waiting for “The Last Guardian” for so long, but I beg for your patience. I will also announce the new release timing at a later time.

Nintendo Announce Price Drops For Wii Party And Wii Sports Resort In The USA From 25th April

Nintendo have announced that from 25th April, they are dropping the price of Wii Party and Wii Sports Resort in the USA. both games will have a suggested retail price of $39.99

Press Release

From sparking instant social fun with friends to putting an interactive twist on family gatherings, Nintendo's Wii Sports Resort™ and Wii Party™ games are surefire ways to get groups of all ages on their feet and laughing together. Starting April 25, each of these two must-have games for the motion-controlled Wii™ system are now even more accessible at a new suggested retail price of just $39.99. Both games offer hours of multiplayer enjoyment that friends and family members can share together, regardless of their age or prior experience with video games. Once the games get going, everyone wants to join in.

With a dozen resort-themed activities that maintain the wide-ranging appeal of the original Wii Sports™ game, Wii Sports Resort transports players to the tropical paradise of Wuhu Island. While there, every member of the household can get in on fun activities such as golf, basketball, archery, wakeboarding and Swordplay. As they swing the Wii Remote™ Plus controller (or a Wii Remote controller with a Wii MotionPlus™ attachment) like a golf club or wave it like a sword, players can watch their movements precisely replicated on-screen for an immersive, instantly enjoyable experience. Since launching in 2009, Wii Sports Resort has sold more than 10.7 million units in the United States alone.

Wii Party packs 13 party game modes and more than 80 minigames that will keep friends and family smiling and having a blast. Best of all, the game allows every player to take a turn in the spotlight by placing his or her customized Mii™ characters at the center of the action. Some of the included games put an interactive twist on popular board games like bingo, while others use the speaker and vibration functions of the Wii Remote to move the action beyond the TV screen and into the living room. In Hide 'n' Hunt, for example, players must locate Wii Remote controllers that have been hidden around the room, while Animal Tracker challenges them to pick up the Wii Remote making the correct animal sound.

Additional controllers are required for multiplayer modes and are sold separately.

For more information about Wii Sports Resort and Wii Party, visit http://www.wiisportsresort.com and http://www.wiiparty.nintendo.com.

Naughty Dog Announce The Uncharted 3 Beta Starts 28th June And Detail New Multiplayer Features

Naughty Dog have announced the Uncharted 3 Multiplayer Beta will start on 28th June 2011. The Beta will be global for those with Playstation Plus. Naughty Dog have released a new trailer for the multiplayer part of Uncharted 3 and it shows 2 levels, The Airstrip and The Chateau. The Chateau is a traditional multiplayer map, with multiple levels taking advantage of the traversal in Uncharted. The Airstrip is 2 parts. the first part takes place on a cargo plane and a truck convoy. the second part takes place in a hanger that occasionally gets strafed by fighter planes.

As Well as announcing a Multiplayer Beta, Naughty Dog have detailed some of the multiplayer aspects in the game, some of which are shown in the trailer. some new game modes include Three Team Deathmatch, where its 2 vs 2 vs 2. the other new mode is Free For All. another new feature is Late To Join. this drops players into multiplayer matches already running where there is space. A Big addition for Uncharted 3 is split screen online multiplayer, where 2 people on a couch can play under their own PSN ID's in several online multiplayer modes. Uncharted 3 will also come with a Buddy System option where you can share each others success.

Naughty Dog are also bringing over Uncharted 2 systems like the booster system. in uncharted 3 there will be new main boosters as well as new Paid Boosters. Uncharted 3 will have indepth customisation options for characters, logo's, and weapons, all of which are shown in the demo.

Naughty Dog is implementing changes into how a game is won. its now possible to have it so if the timer runs out and the scores are tied or very close, the game will go into Overtime. if its still too close to call, Sudden Death happens. During a match there are times when 1 team gets too far ahead. now there are Power Plays that will help the team behind catch up, but if the team ahead is good they can use this period to earn even more money.

Screenshots

The Final reveal today was an update on the social features in the game. Cinema Mode lets you create clips from matches and upload them to your YouTube or Facebook account. Uncharted TV will stream some selected videos to you. there is a feed in the Star Up menu that shows your friends and their uploads. You can use Facebook to invite players to your game or post screenshots of your customised character. you can also post treasures to your Facebook wall that your Facebook friends can click to unlock content in their Uncharted 3 game.

What Have You Played This Week?

Wow, where did that week go. It looks like next week could be the same. So not much gaming at all this week. The only surprise was when I played the Might & Magic: Clash Of Heroes demo I enjoyed it soo much I bought it straight away.

Football Manager 2010 – PC – not quite up to December in the game yet. Still having a strong season but not much else to report.

Pokèmon White – DS – I beat the ice gym. It was a little easier than I thought. I've Kept Litwick and replaced Simisear with Leavanny. I've watched N capturing the rare Pokèmon and have decided to capture Victini

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes – PS3 – as I said before, I tried out the demo first and just enjoyed it soo much. The demo is very good itself as it has a good tutorial, several battles, and ends on a cliffhanger. So far in the game i've moved onto the second land. The first land is wood and elf themed and is a good introduction to the game, some characters, and different ways the battles can be played. It looks simply great, much like Capy's other game Critter Crunch. The battle system is deceptively simple as there is plenty of depth to it. Its easy to just attack and win with it, but there are levels of complexity you can try by doing combo's, making walls, and using champion characters. Whilst all these additional features sound hard, the game does a good job introducing them to players. I've not come across any major issues, occasionally your opponent face doesn't appear in the pre battle screen, but I have to say the game's load times are a little long, but when you see how good and detailed the HD art is its easy to understand.

Capcom Have Detailed Yesterdays Marvel Vs Capcom 3 Patch

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 was patched yesterday and Capcom have provided patch notes. most changes were bug fixes and some minor gameplay tweaks.
  • Fixed bug where a cross counter and X-factor activation would cause Ryu to float if using the β or γ assists.
  • Fixed bug involving snapping out Zero during the activation of his Shadow Clone, which was disabling control of that player's characters.
  • Fixed bug involving the hit stun for Captain America's Shield Slash against Ryu, Amaterasu, and Hulk, which was allowing an unintended combo.
  • Fixed bug for displaying more than 128 victories in a game lobby.
  • Fixed bug involving Haggar blocking an attack in the air, immediately after using the Hoodlum Launcher.
  • Fixed bug for displaying consecutive victories over 99 in Player Match.
  • Fixed bug that allowed an infinite combo by Amaterasu against Taskmaster (Standing), Amaterasu(Standing or Ducking), Zero (Standing), and Shuma-Gorath (Ducking). Bug fix involved Amaterasu's Solar Flare attack (x5) and Power Slash combo.
  • Fixed bug where Spencer's Bionic Maneuvers would cause Viewtiful Joe and Arthur to be stuck in the ground, when used as part of a combo with Haggar's Rapid Fire Fist.
  • Fixed bug where Specner's Bionic Maneuvers would cause the damage to display incorrectly, when used in a combo with Haggar's Steel Pipe and Rapid Fire Fist.

Press Release

Once you’ve dominated Armacham’s army and Alma’s minions, take on multiplayer! Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment reveals a full line-up of multiplayer modes for the upcoming F.E.A.R. 3 videogame, including a brand new multiplayer trailer and screenshots from each mode.

Summary of modes:

Fu**ing Run!
Chased by Alma’s always-encroaching Wall of Death, the F.E.A.R. squad must push forward through Armacham forces and reach the checkpoints before they are swallowed up. If any team-mate is lost to Alma’s Wall of Death, it is game over for everyone. The only way to survive is to F**king Run! Alma’s Wall of Death was inspired by the cover of John Carpenter’s Prince of Darkness.

Contractions
Contractions places gamers as members of an isolated F.E.A.R. squad facing off against Alma’s minions. As a team you must work together to collect weapons and build barricades during the calm between Alma’s contractions. Each time a contraction hits, a wave of supernatural and possessed enemies flood into the area. To make matters worse, a paranormal fog rolls in with each wave, getting thicker and deeper as you try to make your last stand. Dangerous things lurk in the fog, including Alma herself. Only by cooperating can the squad survive all twenty waves. Inspired by John Carpenter’s The Fog.

Soul Survivor
Soul Survivor adds a twist to the cooperative gaming experience. While players are working together as a team to survive attacks from incoming soldiers, Alma will corrupt one of the team, forcing the player to turn against their allies. The Chosen Player has a set amount of time to split up the F.E.A.R. squad and Corrupt them, all while the Armacham soldiers continue assaulting the team. Each player that is picked off joins the Corrupted side and must help to exterminate the remaining squad members. Only the strongest player can make it out alive as the Soul Survivor. Inspired by Steve Niles’ 30 Days of Night where the survivors are taken down one by one and turned against those that remain.

Soul King
All players start as a Spectre, a ghost with the ability to possess human enemies. Players fight to possess and kill AI combatants, as well as collect the caches of souls that other players release once killed. Picking up souls adds to your points, but if you’re killed you lose half your souls. The player with the highest score at the end of the timed round is the Soul King.

Nintendo Announce Pokémon Black And White sold Nearly 2.5 Million Units In March In The USA

Nintendo have announced that Pokémon Black sold 1.1 Million and Pokémon White sold 1.3 Million units in the USA in March. to put that into perspective, the Nintendo 3DS sold 400,000 units in March, it was released on 27th March, and the Nintendo Wii sold 290,000 in March.

Press Release

The new Nintendo 3DS™ system combined with the Nintendo DS™ family of systems to make last month the best-selling March in U.S. history for Nintendo's portable hardware business, according to the independent NPD Group, which tracks video game sales in the United States.

After only one week on sale following its March 27 launch, Nintendo 3DS sold just shy of 400,000 units. Propelled by sales of more than 1.3 million Pokémon™ White Version games and more than 1.1 million Pokémon™ Black Version games, the Nintendo DS family of systems topped all home and portable video game systems in March, with more than 460,000 sold.

"Both Nintendo 3DS and the Nintendo DS family had a strong month, indicating that Nintendo has something for everyone," said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America's senior director of Corporate Communications. "Nintendo provides people with the best video game experiences, from 3D visuals without special glasses to a touch-screen interface to motion controls."

Nintendo's Wii™ console sold more than 290,000 in the United States in March, giving Nintendo combined hardware sales of more than 1.1 million for the month. The upcoming Wii Play™: Motion game launches on June 13 and will have players smiling as they use their Wii Remote™ Plus controller (or Wii Remote™ with Wii MotionPlus™ accessory) in 12 new motion-controlled games. Wii Play: Motion comes packaged with a black Wii Remote Plus controller to deliver great value, precise motion control and immersive social fun that anyone in the household can pick up and instantly enjoy.

As Nintendo 3DS heads into its first full month of sales, a number of milestones are on the horizon to keep momentum going:

• A free future system update will provide Nintendo 3DS owners with an Internet browser and access to the Nintendo eShop, which will bring consumers a broad variety of downloadable software as well as video game trailers, screen shots and related information. The system update also delivers a solution for Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™ owners to easily transfer most of their Nintendo DSiWare™ games to their new Nintendo 3DS systems.

• On June 19, The Legend of Zelda™: Ocarina of Time™ 3D introduces a completely re-mastered version of an epic entry in the beloved The Legend of Zelda game series. The game couples phenomenally enhanced graphics, stunning glasses-free 3D visuals, a touch-screen interface and newly implemented motion controls to provide a fresh experience. The game will also feature new challenges not included in the original game. The Legend of Zelda veterans can look forward to the Master Quest – a second quest with revamped puzzles and redesigned dungeons that feature the same graphical and interface upgrades as the main game.

• Later this summer, Netflix members who own a Nintendo 3DS system and can access a broadband wireless Internet connection will be able to instantly watch TV episodes and movies streaming from Netflix directly to their Nintendo 3DS systems. A Netflix unlimited membership is required.

Press Release

Milton Keynes, UK – April 14, 2011 Prepare yourself for the ultimate gridiron showdown! 505 Games and NaturalMotion Games announced today that Backbreaker: Vengeance, the next chapter in the genre-changing Backbreaker franchise, will smash through on to Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system for Microsoft this summer.

Backbreaker: Vengeance takes the intensity and AAA appeal of the original Backbreaker Football console game and combines it with the pick-up-and-play nature of the multi-million selling iPhone games to create a whole new one-of-a-kind sports experience for digital download on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360. It takes as its inspiration the wildly popular “Tackle Alley” mini-game in Backbreaker Football to deliver an all-new arcade slant on football.

Backbreaker: Vengeance marks the first time the series has been available as a digital download via Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360, featuring non-stop, hard-hitting arcade action; bone-crunching tackles; and tons of swagger from end-zone to end-zone. Unprecedented, hard hitting tackles (with no pre-canned animations) and jaw-dropping graphics complement the distinct pick-up-and-playability that proved so infectious with Backbreaker Football’s “Tackle Alley” mini-game.

“Backbreaker has caught the imagination of the world with its fresh approach to the sports genre. Backbreaker Vengeance for Xbox LIVE Arcade focuses on the aspects of American Football our fans love: incredible euphoria animations, gut-busting collisions, deceptive juke maneuvers and a pick-up-and-play feel,” said Torsten Reil, CEO of NaturalMotion. “This brutal spiritual successor to the beloved Tackle Alley will show gamers across the world that when it comes to delivering no-frills football action, Backbreaker: Vengeance is where it’s at.”

Since its arrival on the mobile platforms in 2009 and on console in 2010 the Backbreaker franchise has garnered over 6 million fans across the world, testament to its proudly accessible approach to American Football.
Whether you takedown or touchdown…it’s Vengeance!
