What Have You Played This Week?
Football Manager 10 – PC – thought I would have a go with another team. I'm now Annan and i'm near the end of the season, challenging for automatic promotion with Livingston.
Super Mario Galaxy – Wii – I've heard soo much hype about this game so I decided to try it. First off, graphically the game is amazing...even after nearly 3 years. Its hard to think of many Wii games that come close to Super Mario Galaxy in terms of looks, although i'd argue Okami (which I previously was playing) does compare. The story adds little to the game and really only serves as a way to justify the game, with the gameplay and worlds taking the lead in driving the player on. I had several issues with the controls and camera to the point of frustration. The simpler designed levels were fine, but when the more intricate/interesting levels came along...i found the camera and controls to be a big issue. I completed the Story but didn't go for the extra levels cause it would've been too frustrating. The ending was epic and a good boss battle, and for the most part most boss battles were fun. I like the game, it looks amazing, and the level design is fairy innovative, but I can't see why it got all the high marks it did. For me the camera and control issues were enough to drop some points. Still for a Wii owner, this is a must play. I have high hopes for Super Mario Galaxy 2 that it'll be a more refined product.
Wip3out HD Fury – PS3 – it had been a while since I last played this game so going in I was a bit rusty. I played some great online matches one night which left me only needing to win the HD races to get all the Wip3out HD liveries. So I set about completing the last selection of races, Meltdown I think its called. I tried playing them on elite but it was hopeless so I set the difficulty to easy. Whilst the racing was more easy, I also found it more fun doing it this way. I did complete Meltdown, I got the final HD liveries. Now all that's left is to finish the Fury races.
What have you been playing this week? feel free to add your weeks gaming selection in the comments, or comment on my selection for this week

Nintendo has announced that the Nintendo DS family sold over 613,000 units in February. This is a new record for the amount of Portable video game sales in a month. The previous record was held by Nintendo and it was 597,000 Nintendo DS units sold in February 2009.

Press Release
With more than 613,000 units sold in February, the Nintendo DS™ family of systems set a new U.S. record for portable video game sales in the month of February, according to the independent NPD Group. This tally surpasses the previous record of more than 597,000 units set by Nintendo DS in February 2009.
Wii recorded another strong month of sales, despite being hindered by continued product shortages that affected U.S. retail locations during the month. Even so, Nintendo still managed to sell more than 397,000 Wii systems at retail for the month.
With these sales through the end of February, consumers have already purchased 1.9 million Nintendo hardware systems in 2010 alone.
"Here in its sixth year of availability, Nintendo DS continues to expand the appeal of video games," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. "We expect the public's appetite for these systems will grow even more when we introduce our new extra-large model, the Nintendo DSi XL, on March 28."
Three of the top five best-selling games of February play on Nintendo systems. These includeNew Super Mario Bros.™ Wii at No. 1 with more than 555,000 sold, Ubisoft's Just Dance™ at No. 4 with more than 275,000 sold and Wii Sports Resort™ with the Wii MotionPlus™ accessory at No. 5 with more than 272,000 sold.

Press Release
Tokyo, March 10, 2010 – Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) today announced that PlayStation®Move motion controller for PlayStation®3 (PS3™) computer entertainment system, launches worldwide this fall, offering a motion-based, high-definition gaming experience unlike anything on the market. Concurrently with its launch, SCE will also release PlayStation®Move sub-controller to be used along with the motion controller for intuitive navigation of in-game characters and objects. The PlayStation Move platform, including the motion controller, sub-controller, and PlayStation®Eye camera*1, together with a strong lineup of software titles, will deliver an innovative and highly immersive experience on the PS3 system.
The combination of the PS3 system and PlayStation Eye camera detects the precise movement, angle, and absolute position in 3D space of PlayStation Move motion controller, allowing users to intuitively play the game as if they themselves are within the game. PlayStation Move motion controller delivers unmatched accuracy through its advanced motion sensors, including a three-axis gyroscope, a three-axis accelerometer, and a terrestrial magnetic field sensor, as well as a color-changing sphere that is tracked by PlayStation Eye camera. Through PlayStation Move system, both fast and subtle motion can be detected, whether the user is swinging a tennis racket, or painting with a brush. With PlayStation Move motion controller, users can provide direct input through action buttons and an analog trigger, while receiving physical feedback from rumble functionality and visual feedback from the sphere’s ability to display a variety of different colors. Furthermore, PlayStation Eye camera can capture the player’s voice or image, enabling augmented reality experiences.
The newly announced PlayStation Move sub-controller is a one-handed controller, developed to further expand the game play options that PlayStation Move games can offer*2. PlayStation Move sub-controller features a sleek curved design that pairs with the motion controller and comes with an analog stick and directional buttons that allow users to easily control the game when moving characters or choosing a direction. Like all other Wireless Controllers for the PS3 system, it comes with a built in lithium-ion rechargeable battery as well as Bluetooth® technology, enabling the controller to transfer the input information wirelessly to the PS3 system without a cable. PlayStation Move motion controller and sub-controller will further broaden the gaming experience on the PS3 system for all genres, from games that use one motion controller to games that use both controllers.
