Sony Announce There Are Over 2 Million Creations In ModNation Racers

Sony have announced there are now over 2 Million creations in ModNation racers. Sony have released a trailer showing some of them, but as they say in the blog post: "If you download and race one track a day, everyday, it would take you well over one full millennium to finish, and that’s including leap year days!"



The Trailer also shows some upcoming DLC for the game. There is some free DLC coming this week including:

United Front Games Announce ModNation Racers Patch 1.03 Is Coming Today

United Front Games have announced that Patch 1.03 is coming out today for ModNation Racers. this patch aims to fix the XP Races and XP Series issues that came about from patch 1.02.

United Front have also released some background information for ModNation Racers. Patch 1.02 added and fixed many things in the game, but one of the more argued things was load times. i have reported on a few sites saying contradictory things on how much load times improved with the patch. Their main focus was on reducing the load times in Career Races and Online Races, as well as reducing loading times around Career Central. but United Front Games point out that there are reasons why the game has fairly large load times and its mainly due to the amount of data each track and kart use and we may not see further improvement to load times because of it.

Sony Announce ModNation Racers Update 1.02 Is Coming Out On The 4th August

Sony have announced that the ModNation Racers patch, 1.02, is coming out on the 4th August, at 10Am GMT, 2AM PST. The Patch brings the following to the game:

• New “Casual” Difficulty Mode
• Challenge friends in XP Series
• No more “Hot Lap” Cheaters
• Get into Online Races Quicker

Sony Announce The Upcoming ModNation Racers patch Adds A Casual Career Difficulty

United Front and Sony have revealed that the upcoming Patch for ModNation Racers will bring a casual difficulty level to the games career mode. this new difficulty setting will make the opposing racers less aggressive. This upcoming patch from United Front is also set to improve the games loading times and fix bugs. some user requested features like the new difficulty setting are also set to come with the patch.

Sony Announce The New ModNation Community Website Is Now Live

Sony have announced that the ModNation Racers community website for both the PSP and PS3 version of the game is Live. the website allows you to search and view all the top rated karts, mods, and tracks from the PS3 and PSP versions of the game as well as being able to search and view hot Lap, Xp, and Race Leaderboards. The site also has forums for both games where you'll be able to interact with other players and members of the development teams behind ModNation Racers.

Sony Have Released A ModNation Racers Artist Spotlight With Kevin Bulter, VP Of Artistic Modification

Sony have released a new Artist Spotlight for ModNation Racers. this spotlight stars Kevin Butler, VP Of Artistic Modification, and is done somewhat similar to the Kevin Butler adverts. The video shows Kevin creating his own Racer and what he looked for in making a track. This track can be downloaded when ModNation Racers is released by searching for the PSN ID: ArtistSpotlight1.

Like all Kevin Butler Adverts, Jack Tretton makes an appearance somewhere, and at the end of the advert, Kevin Butler teases his next advert could be Gran Turismo 5.

Sony Reveal The New Pre-Order Characters For ModNation Racers And The New Sackboy Racer

Yesterdays, Sony teased about new pre-order characters coming to ModNation Racers and a mysterious silhouette teasing a new racer. Today, Sony have revealed all. The New pre-order characters are an added bonus for those who Pre-order ModNation Racers. The 4 new characters are called, Woody, Cowboy, Lil Tinker, and Mouse Trap. Sony have announced that its random as to which you get.

Sackboy will come to ModNation Racers, in specially marked cases, as a free download code. this will last until stock runs out, but all those who pre-order the game will get Sackboy.

Suker Punch Create inFamous's Empire City In ModNation Racers And Sony Announce New Pre-Order Bonuses

Sucker Punch have used the create a track tools in ModNation Racers to create a track based on Empire City from inFamous. Sony have released a video of this track as well as the racer and kart that Sucker Punch created that is also inFamous themed. the video details how they built the track and the attention of detail that went in to not only make it look like Empire City, but to also make it fun and exciting.



Sony have also announced that for people who pre-order ModNation Racers, as well as the known character you receive, Kratos, Ratchet and Clank, or Nathan Drake, you will also be getting another new character. Sony hasn't announced who they are yet, but they have released silhouettes of the racers and their karts with the reveal coming tomorrow.

Sony Have Revealed The EU Boxart For Modnation Racers On The PSP And PS3

Sony's EU Playstation Blog have revealed the boxart for the EU versions of Modnation Racers on the Playstation Portable and Playstation 3. Some of the racers shown on the boxart were actually created by gamers in the Modnation Racers Beta. No EU release date was given, but the USA version is set for a 18th May release.

Sony Announce That A European ModNation Racers Beta Is Coming 22nd January

Sony Europe has announced that on 21st January a ModNation Racer Beta will be available to download on the Playstation Network. Sony say that the Beta will only be available to the first 100,000 people who download the beta. The Beta will go live on 22nd January.

The Beta will have 4 premade tracks, 2 of which are exclusive to the European Beta. Users will also be able to make their own kart, character, and alpine themed race track that can be shared with other Beta Trial testers. The beta will end on 14th February.
