Sega, Irem, Capcom, Sony, And More Announce Game Delays And Cancellations In Japan And Worldwide

Following the natural disasters across Japan, several game publishers and developers have announced delays to game releases and DLC whilst others have cancelled some games and events. there could be more announcements in the future, but as of Monday 14th March, around 3.30PM, here is the latest on what's happening.

Delayed:
  • Capcom have announced the Jill and Shuma Gorath DLC for Marvel Vs Capcom 3 has been postponed. its currently unclear if this extends beyond Japan.
  • Sega have delayed the release of Yakuza Of The End in Japan. the game is currently listed as TBA. Sega cite "various circumstances" for the delay.
  • Sony have delayed the release of Motorstorm Apocalypse in Japan. Sony also cite "various circumstances" for the delay. it should be noted Sony cancelled the release of Motorstorm Apocalypse in New Zealand following the Christchurch Earthquale.
  • Microsoft have revealed the Xbox Live 12 Month Gold Starter Kit, Xbox Live 3 Month Gold Membership, and Dragon Age Origins Awakening have been delayed in Japan.
Cancelled:
  • Irem have cancelled Disaster Report 4. they haven't commented on why, but offer apologises to fans and to those who worked on the game. The game was set in a City hit by a major Earthquake.
  • Microsoft have cancelled their upcoming "Kinect Experience Caravan Car Event" in Japan.
  • Several game demo events have been cancelled across Japan including, Blazblue Continuum Shift II, Dead or Alive Dimensions, and Dragon Ball Zenkai Battle Royal.

Sony have also revealed the EU release of Motorstorm Apocalypse is currently "under discussion". Sony have also warned that there could be instances where the PSN will be difficult to connect to and other content updates could be delayed.
