Nintendo held a Pokémon Direct and revealed several new features and surprises for the upcoming 3DS game Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. the first big news is that the game gets a worldwide release on 12th October.
Nintendo have announced the starter Pokémon from Kanto are back. Professor Sycamore, in Lumiose city, will give you a choice to pick either Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. each of these three will have their own Mega Evolution:
to activate these new Mega Evolutions, it's been revealed that as well as each Pokémon holding their own Mega Stone, the player now has to find a bracelet called the Mega Ring. this ring has a Key Stone inside that resonates with the stone the Pokémon is holding.

The Pokémon Bank is a new app for the 3DS that will come out later in the year. this app will be released on the eShop and come with a annual fee. the Pokémon Bank lets you store digitally up to 3,000 Pokémon in the cloud for later access. For Pokémon stuck in Pokémon Black/Black 2 and Pokémon White/White 2 Nintendo will release this free app on the 3DS called Poké Transporter. with this app, all you need to do is insert your DS cartridge and it will upload your caught Pokémon to the Pokémon Bank, where you'll be able to download them into Pokémon X and Y or future games.
The Limited Edition Pokémon X and Pokémon Y themed Nintendo 3DS XL is set to come out across the EU and USA on 27th September for a suggested retail price of $199.99 each. the Pokémon featured on both are Xerneas and Yveltal, the legendary Pokémon.
