Nintendo Have Announced that the Nintendo 3DS is coming out in Japan on 26th February for ¥25,000. the USA Europe release of the Nintendo 3DS is March, but not date or price has been announced. The launch colours are the Aqua Blue and Cosmo Black, shown above. For ¥25,000, you get The Nintendo 3DS, a charging cradle, 2GB SD card, telescoping metal stylus and six "paper cards" for playing the system's built-in augmented reality games.

Nintendo Expect for the 3DS to sell 4 million Units and 15 Million games between its release on 26th February to the end of the company's business year on March 31st, that same year.

This trailer shows many of the 3DS features. even though its in Japanese, some things are easy to understand. There will be a home screen, much like how the PSP has the XMB, where you can launch programs and games. When the 3DS is in Sleep Mode it has 2 functions, SpotPass and StreetPass. SpotPass is when asleep the 3DS connects to Nintendo Zone Online.  the trailer shows many examples of StreetPass, where a 3DS will share information with another 3DS when in range. If any 3DS have been found, a light lights up. then on the Home screen, you go to the StreetPass section to view all the downloaded info. the Trailer shows examples of exchanging Mii's and personal information, going for walks in nintendogs + cats and see other 3DS owners, and having fights in Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition

Another feature of the 3DS is the built in Augmented Reality Games. you use the front facing cameras to view a special card and play the game, the example shown is facing off against a monster. The trailer shows what appears to either be multi-tasking or multiple state saves. The 3DS lets you create a Mii by taking a picture of someone. once the picture is taken, the 3DS creates a Mii that's similar to the picture, but you can edit the Mii afterwards.

Nintendo have announced that there will be downloadable Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games for the 3DS, accessible via a store similar to the Virtual Console. Nintendo have been preparing a large number of launch window titles for the 3DS, and in a trailer showcasing many of the previously known titles, some new games have also been announced.

Some of the more recognisable games from the trailer include:
  • Animal Crossing 3DS

  • Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
  • Resident Evil: Revelations
  • Resident Evil: The Mercenaries
  • Kid Icarus: Uprising
  • Star Fox 3DS
  • Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater
In Japan, Nintendo reveal they are partnering with Fuji TV to try streaming 3D Videos daily to the 3DS. Nintendo have announced that you will be able to transfer DSiWare games, from either a DSi or DSi XL, to a 3DS, and even transfer 3DSWare games from one device to a new device. however, there does appear to be limitations in the amount of times software can be moved and some software may not be able to be moved.

Nintendo have announced that they have finalised the 3DS Hardware. The First picture shows how the device looked at this years E3. when comparing it to the final version, the only thing that looks changed is the colour of the Analogue Nub.

Other 3DS Specs are: The 3DS' dimensions when closed are 5.3 inches wide, 2.9 inches long, 0.8 inches tall and weighs in at 8 ounces. The upper screen's dimensions are 3.53 inches, wide screen with naked eye 3D support, 800x240 pixel resolution (400 pixels are allocated for each eye to enable 3D viewing), while the lower screen is 3.02 inches and 320x240 pixels.
