Killzone 2 has outsold Halo Wars

I head on the 1up podcast, listen up [1], that Halo Wars had been outsold by Killzone 2.
this surprised me so i had a quick look at sales figures for both games.

Killzone 2 has sold around 1.57 Million units [2]
Halo Wars has sold around 1.18 Million [3]

Guess they were right, Halo Wars May have outsold Killzone 2 in America during it's First week, but for the rest of the world, Killzone 2 has outsold it. Subsequent week sales for Halo Wars have all been less than Killzone 2

Killzone 2 Vs Halo 3 - Japanese Sales Figures Week 2 Goes to Killzone 2

Last week I wrote about how Halo 3 managed to outsell Killzone 2 in it's first week sales in Japan. It was a fair achievement seeing as the 360 had sold around 2 Million consoles less at halo 3 release than the PS3 at Killzone 2 release.
I Guessed it could be down to the Halo franchise being much more well known and played than the Killzone franchise, @Doom_CMYK responding via twitter that Microsoft also had a bigger advertising Promotion In Japan than Sony or Guerilla had given Killzone 2.

The second week figures are now in for Killzone 2, and when compared to Halo 3 figures, they show a higher level of support. Halo 3 went from selling 62,415 in it's first week to just 7,133 [1]. Killzone 2 also has a drop in sales but no where as high as Halo 3, going from 42,660 sold in week 1 to 16,069 in week 2. [2]

Halo 3 still sold more than Killzone 2 during it's first two weeks, but it will be interesting to see if Killzone 2 sells more over a longer period of time.
