What Have You Played This Week?

That's right, no Football Manager this week, and not much else truth be told.

Fat Princess – PS3 – got a few more trophies, and also managed to get into a few great games. Starting to notice that many games are not full now which is a shame as I prefer those.

Race Pro – Xbox 360 – I remember a while back seeing something about this game which got me interested. However, after playing many hours of it i'm very disappointed. It has an avergae amount of tracks, but the backgrounds are fairly bland and motionless, whilst stuff like the curbs appear as flat as the grass (which can be very annoying as you may find on one or two tracks that a “flat” curb launches your car in the air), and even the clouds appear to be repeated at every track. There is a good car selection and they do feel different from each other, in terms of handling, speed, and traction, and a average set of modes to use them in. the championship is 10 races, the career though is many ranks split into different cars, each with 3 races to compete in. but after a while it just feels bland and very repetitive. The novice mode is insultingly easy, whilst semi pro feels like easy. Pro's difficulty is such a giant leap that it becomes soo frustrating. There are also graphical issues with shadows, like under the rear wing, and puffs of smoke hanging in mid air. There was also a track where the start lights didn't appear for a sec. I'm playing through the career mode, but it will be sent back soon. It's not even good for achievements.

Resistance Fall Of Man – PS3 – this is a game I never finished. I watch my old house mates complete it, but I personally don't have a finished game. So i'm working my way through it, ready for Resistance 2. I do enjoy it, I like the story, the games difficulty increases slowly, and there's always enough ammo. Graphically it doesn't hold up great, but as a whole, it's a fine shooter.

Crash Bandicoot – PS1 Classic – PSP – Only played a little. I stopped ages ago as I was stuck, but this time I did it first time. I managed to get a few more levels in. this game though is a lot harder than I remember it being.

Super Star Dust Portable – PSP – I used to be addicted to this game. The PSP version is done soo well, from the music to the new game modes. It didn't take long for its hooks to dig into me and I wasted a whole battery life just playing it. Great fun and highly recommended.

EA Announces That, Academy Award Nominated, Will Rokos Is Writing The Story For Dante's Inferno

EA Has revealed that Academy Award Nominated Writer, Will Rokos, is developing the Story for the Dante's Inferno video game.
Will Rokos has said that this "...has been one of the most interesting and challenging projects I’ve worked on,”.

Press Release

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Oct 09, 2009 Visceral Games™, the developers behind the critically-acclaimed Dead Space™ franchise and a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), today announced that Academy Award™-nominated writer Will Rokos is writing the story line for Dante’s Inferno™, the adaptation of part one of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem “The Divine Comedy” from Visceral Games™. Rokos is best known for his Best Original Screenplay nomination for Monster’s Ball in 2001, and is collaborating with the game’s creative team to craft an all new narrative that parallels the original poem.

“The task of adapting a revered and classic piece of literature for the gaming medium was a tremendous challenge,” said Jonathan Knight, executive producer ofDante’s Inferno. “Dante Alighieri’s masterpiece forms the foundation of the game’s plot, but Will’s take on the Dante/Beatrice story brought the necessary conflict and action that made the material really work dramatically. It was an enormous thrill to partner on the script with someone as creative and talented as Will.”

“Taking such a naturally rich and deep universe and adapting for the video game has been one of the most interesting and challenging projects I’ve worked on,” added Will Rokos. “I really got into re-imagining Dante as a flawed hero with a dark past, and his determination to save the love of his life from a terrible fate. It was a truly unique experience to re-create one man’s hell, one circle at a time.”

In Dante’s Inferno, players will assume the role of Dante as he fights through Dante Alighieri’s nine circles of hell – limbo, lust, gluttony, greed, anger, heresy, violence, fraud and treachery. Each circle features distinctive epic environments, custom creatures and demons, bosses and sub-bosses, unique gameplay scenarios, and specific story elements crafted to tell the sins of Dante’s past.

The blockbuster video game adaptation of Alighieri’s epic poem “Inferno” will be available in North America beginning on February 9, 2010 and in Europe on February 12, 2010 for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system, the PlayStation®3 computer and entertainment system and the Sony PlayStation® Portable (PSP®). Dante’s Inferno has not yet been rated by the ESRB or PEGI.

For more information on Dante’s Inferno, please follow the Dante’s Inferno team at Visceral Games on Twitter at www.twitter.com/danteteam and visit the game’s official web site at www.dantesinferno.com where the team explores a new circle of hell, with new content and updates on the ninth day of every month.
