Press Release

NEW YORK --(Business Wire)-- Jun 05, 2009 2K Sports, the sports publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), announced today that 11-time NBA All-Star Kobe Bryant of the Los Angeles Lakers, will be featured as the cover athlete and spokesman for the highly anticipated basketball video game, NBA 2K10. After leading the Los Angeles Lakers to a remarkable 65-17 regular season record, Bryant’s star power was a natural fit for the 10th anniversary of the hugely popular NBA 2K franchise, the #1 selling basketball video game* and #1 rated NBA simulation **.

“I’ve been playing sports video games for as long as I can remember and honestly, I’ve never seen one come so close to replicating real basketball. What 2K Sports has done is truly incredible and I’m proud to be a partner with them and on the cover of NBA 2K10,” said Bryant, currently seeking his fourth career NBA championship. “2K Sports is constantly improving and adding something new to their game every year that makes them better and better, and that’s exactly what I try to do each season with my game. It’s as if 2K Sports has been on a sports video game championship run for several years now, and I’m not even sure there’s a word for that kind of dominance.”

To support this announcement, 2K Sports brought on legendary, award-winning film director and die-hard New York Knicks fan, Spike Lee, to produce an exclusive TV spot that aired last night to reveal Kobe Bryant as the cover athlete for NBA 2K10. Lee, who recently directed the highly publicized documentary on Kobe Bryant, Kobe Doin’ Work (ESPN Films), is famously known for his intense love and passion for the game of basketball.

“It's quite obvious why 2K Sports put Kobe Bryant on the cover of NBA 2K10, which is the best NBA video game,” said Lee, whose recent documentary on Bryant has earned high praise. “One day Kobe and I will go 1 on 1 playing NBA 2K10.”

In conjunction with the reveal of Bryant as the cover athlete for NBA 2K10, 2K Sports will invite fans to vote on their choice for the official box cover. A dedicated voting site will offer fans a selection of NBA 2K10 box covers to choose from, and the voting period is open now through June 15. The box cover that receives the most votes at the end of the voting period will be unveiled as the cover of NBA 2K10 on June 16. More information on voting can be found at the official NBA 2K10 voting site, www.2ksports.com/vote.

Bryant’s star power was evident at an early age when he was drafted out of high school in 1996 from Lower Merion HS (PA). He is widely regarded as one of the best players in NBA history. Given the nickname “Black Mamba,” Bryant has won three NBA Championships with the Los Angeles Lakers, was named the Most Valuable Player in the 2007-08 NBA season, and most recently, won a gold medal as a member of the 2008 Summer Olympics U.S. Men’s Basketball Team. During his career, Bryant has also led the league in scoring twice, and has been elected to every All-NBA team since 1999, along with being named to nine All-Defensive teams. Since his second year in the league, Bryant has started in every NBA All-Star Game that has been hosted, including winning the All-Star MVP award in 2002, 2007, and 2009.

Sony - Pain Museum Screenshots and Fact Sheet

Sony has released screenshots for Pain Museum a fact Sheet.

FACT SHEET

Publisher: Sony Computer Entertainment America
Developer: Idol Minds, Inc.
Platform: PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) system via PLAYSTATION®Network
Genre: Action / Comedy
Players: 1-4 players
Rating: “T” for “Teen”

OVERVIEW

Keep quiet? Don’t touch? Just appreciate the artwork? They don’t know you very well, do they? When the Museum add-on for PAIN, one of the PLAYSTATION®Network’s most downloaded games, arrives exclusively for PS3™ this summer, history will never be the same. Well, at least natural history won’t. PAIN: Museum gives players a chance to bring some excitement to the quiet and mundane world of the museum. Apparently, Somebody’s managed to get a new launcher into the museum, and it’s up to the player to make the most of this awesome opportunity to bring the PAIN!

The core, unique mechanic of PAIN allows the player to load a character into an extreme launching device, such as a human-sized, ultra-powerful slingshot, and fire the character into an active, physics-controlled environment, filled with precarious, humorous and sometime suggestive situations. The player receives points by stringing together painful collisions and inducing chaos in the environment. The player must achieve a wide variety of goals and / or reach various scoring milestones in each of the different single player and multiplayer modes of play. As challenging as it is funny, PAIN includes online leaderboards so players can compete against the masses.

IN THE MUSEUM

What would you do if that old military artillery on display were still live? Might you chuck those bombs at that huge dinosaur skeleton just to see what happens? Maybe drop a few on that janitor with the buffer who looks like he could use an attitude adjustment? Think you could use one to crack a sarcophagus open?

With four different launcher locations to choose from at any time, the Museum is a huge environment, but players should fear not – there is plenty of action to keep them in motion, from escalators to lunar rovers to floor buffers to that giant propeller display mounted into the floor. If players run out of Ooch (PAIN’s momentum mechanic) and begin losing inertia, there will be plenty of opportunity to get it back and keep the fun going. PAIN: Museum is a big new environment with the potential for big scores.

KEY FEATURES

Multiple playable characters, including celebrities, each with distinct personalities and attributes, as well as character specific in-flight poses and voice-over.
Various modes to play – Multiplayer modes include HORSE, Fun with Explosives, Bowling, and a variety of others. With single player modes like the classic free play layouts, Spank the Monkey, and Fun With Explosives - all supported by online leaderboards - PAIN provides both the challenges and the replayability gamers want.
Completely Interactive Gameplay Environment – regardless of what the player does within the PAIN thematic, the overall environment remains completely dynamic and fully destructible, allowing the player to find new and limitless ways to create chaos, comedy or simply wait to see what happens next.
Each time a player launches into the PAINful environment, the physics and animation data is stored in the PS3’s memory, allowing the player to view a replay instantly. With control over various camera angles and the replay speed – slow motion and fast forward – users can view each bruising launch for maximum comedy, even editing, saving, and uploading their best replays directly to Youtube.
A unique physics model created on Havok powered events allows for amazing ragdoll animations while ensuring that duplicating incidents is almost impossible. This keeps gameplay fresh no matter how many times a player is launched into the same environment.
Players are introduced to PAIN through a PAINless and interactive tutorial that teaches the player helpful skills to maximize the scores, chaos and fun in PAIN.
Available exclusively via PlayStation Network, PAIN has a robust online community feature set that includes a PAIN blog (www.PAINPS3.com) for ongoing dialogue with the development team, leaderboards and more.
With PAIN’s modular backbone, the game is made to expand. More characters, more themes, more gameplay modes and most importantly more PAINful fun!

This will always be on the bottom of the post whether there is more information or not, but i'm afraid that's unavoidable for now.
