The EU and USA Playstation Blogs have detailed the Welcome Back and Customer Appreciation Programs. as well as free games, users will also get Playstation Plus membership and Home Items. to be eligible, users had to be registered PSN users by 20th April 2011. Users will have 30 days from when the program is live to download their free games.
Users who have both a PS3 and PSP will get 4 free games. Those games are yours to keep. any items bought using Playstation Plus are yours to keep. any free games you get via the 30 days of free PSN plus are not yours to keep and will be inaccessible when your 30 days are up.

Sony Europe's Nick Caplin has come out and said that there's nothing they can do for users who already own, for example, 4 of the 5 PS3 games. Sony wanted to offer big PS3 games and not little PSN games and they made sure each of the games had a metacritic rating of 84% or higher. but as Nick says "Unfortunately with a user base of 77m people, it is really hard to offer something for everyone."

EA have announced new DLC is coming to Shift 2 Unleashed. Speedhunters will bring new game modes, new cars, and new tracks to the game. coming 17th May for 800 MS points/£7.99, 2 new types of tracks are introduced which are Drag and Standing Mile. each type has 9 new events that can only use manual gear changes. 14 new cars are also added, they include:

The SHIFT 2 UNLEASHED Speedhunters content pack contains two new branches including Drag and Standing mile. Each branch features nine new events, where players will only be able to use the manual gear change so that they can really feel what it’s like to be in the driver’s seat. This means the traction control features will be forced off and the HUD will display a new rev counter and gear indicator. The difference between the two modes is simple – Drag judges the fastest time over a quarter mile stretch, and Standing Mile judges the fastest speed achieved over a mile stretch. Both branches allows for new high-power customization options where players can create 1000 horsepower engines capable of reaching speeds of over 250 mph.
To top it off, the Speedhunters content pack features two new cars – Chris Rado’s World Racing Pro-FWD Reaper Scion tC and Koz’s Dodge Viper GTS by Twins Turbo as well as 12 specially tuned Speedhunters vehicles available to compete in all disciplines.

Namco Bandai have announced Soul Calibur V, a game that's coming to both the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2012. Soul Calibur V will have greater online and character creation modes, over previous games in the series, and it continues to be a 3D fighting game. Soul Calibur V is set 17 years after Soul Calibur IV and will feature new fighters and returning warriors.

Konami have released a new trailer for No More Heroes: Heroes' Paradise. this trailer features Travis talking about the back story and detailing what will be happening in the game.
Lightbox Interactive Have Announced Starhawk for the PS3. coming in 2012, Starhawk is a single player and multiplayer third person shooter. Starhawk is set in the future where two human factions are fighting over Rift Energy. the Rifters and Outcasts are humans vs mutated humans. in the single player game you play as graves, a character who is half and half and have to decide who to fight for.
Starhawk has several different weapons and vehicles to use, but a key factor is the Build & Battle system. this system lets players add base structures during a battle. buildings, vehicles, and firepower can be dropped to change the outcome of a battle.
The online mode supports up to 32 player matches, and up to 4 player online/offline co-op play. splitscreen gameplay is also possible during both multiplayer and co-op. an Android app is also coming out to keep players up to date with the game, tournaments, and leaderboards. Starhawk will also have community features.

Developed by LightBox Interactive, in partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios’ Santa Monica, Starhawk will provide a fast paced third-person shooter experience set in the unruly frontier of space allowing players to instantly alter the battlefield by calling down offensive and defensive structures in real-time from an orbiting drop ship, whilst blasting away at enemies in the middle of huge single-player or multiplayer battles.
The Starhawk Universe is set in the distant future out in the far reaches of Space where two factions a colony of humans known as the Rifters, and the Outcast, a ruthless species of humans mutated into psychotic monsters by the Rift Energy, a dangerous resource both factions are battling over. Starhawk puts the player in the boots of Emmett Graves a hired gunslinger ostracised from society due to his own exposure to Rift Energy, leaving him partially mutated, but still able to retain his humanity. Taking on the powerful role of Graves the player will be drawn back to his home settlement of White Sands on the planet Dust to face a mysterious outlaw and his band of Outcast warriors to only find out that this assignment may mean more to him than he could ever imagine. He will soon find out that his family is involved in the clash between the Outcast and the Rifters and therefore must decide between those close to him and those he swore to protect.
Starhawk’s features a host of weaponry and a multitude of vehicles for fast paced action combat combined with intense vehicular warfare on both land and air. The game’s innovative Build & Battle system lets players alter the on screen action by giving them the ability to change the dynamic of the battlefield instantly with a selection of base structures at their disposal, all while in the midst of the fight. By the touch of a button players can deploy a number of buildings, vehicles, or fire power to strategically complete mission objectives and defeat enemies.
