What Have You Played This Week?
I managed to play a few games this week. I'm also going to start talking about Demo's that i've played. They may not be the full game, but they have been released as representational of what the final game will be, and therefore I believe they are fine to discuss.
Football Manager 09 – PC – Still going strong. I've been playing as San Marino, the club not the nation though they both do share the same name, location and stadium. It's interesting as I don't really try out the Italian leagues much.
Dead Space – PS3 – i'll be honest, I gave up trying to play this game. Yes I did play through SOS: The Escape, but that had one thing over Dead Space...it wasn't a scary game. I can see why Dead Space is thought of so highly, and I agree that it has some high points. But ultimately the game isn't for me.
Fat Princess – PS3 – most games I played had the snail logo, not sure if it's an issue with me or the servers. Also noticed that most games I was playing, I lost this week. If I had to guess, i'd say that people still don't know what to do in the game. There were workers still getting wood an iron way after we needed any. There also seems to be a lack of organisation. Again, not sure if it's down to people still not knowing/understanding how the game needs to be played or just a general lack of voice chat. Still, i'm having fun. Played the beach stage for the first time. I can't believe I had been playing the game for so long without actually seeing it.
Shatter – PS3 – finally did the bonus stage trophy. I'm now stuck on the levels. There's just one boss, the one who plugs itself in and shoots balls at you, and no matter how much I play I just can't seem to beat it.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes – Demo – PS3 – I had watched the show and found it enjoyable so I gave the demo ago. Its a fairly short demo, full of tutorials, split into a Jedi campaign or the Clones campaign. The Clones was very easy, perhaps too easy, but at least the controls were simple. The Jedi, however, was not as much fun. The main big issue I had was the platforming. Never have I come across a game where I couldn't jump from one ledge to another. The amount of times I died, the awkwardness of trying to get a jedi to simply jump from one place to another is mind boggling. There was also issues with the force powers, trying to angle it to deflect rockets was near impossible. It's a small download, but I can safely say it's no Star Wars The Force Unleashed.
Little Big Planet – PS3 – I'll be honest and say that I went back to get some trophies, which I did get, but it didn't take long for me enjoy myself again. I ended up going through the single player campaign trying to get all the hidden collectables and it just hits you how much is hidden. Some levels I had less than 50% of the collectables, and after looking round you appreciated the level design and how they hid the triggers. I also played some online games, well tried to. Tying to play some levels online didn't work great, and a few of the levels just simply broke when 4 players tried playing them.
What have you been playing this week? feel free to add your weeks gaming selection in the comments, or comment on my selection for this week

New Feature – Sunday Editorials – QTE Gamers Gives Readers Chance To Have Their Own Editorials Published
all you need to do is to email us your article
All we ask is that you have a title for the article that is to the point and explains what your article is about
For Example “ Eidos, is their method of combating piracy effective and have they taken the right stance?”
if you quote or mention another article, podcast, video, etc, then you must give us what it is and put it in the article
For example” the joystiq podcast [episode 123, 1:12.10 into the podcast] mentions that...”
if your article is going to be long, we ask that you provide a brief conclusion to it which we can put above the full article
“is Eidos right to put a game ending “bug” in their game to reduce piracy. Yes I do think they were right. It only effects the hardcore, those who have seek out getting an illegal version of it, and not the general public, who have been burned before with high profile games like Spore limiting them to only a couple of installs. Edios method is less evasive, less complicated, and provides the gamer with a “demo” and incentive to get the full game”
