Capybara Games have announced that they and Ubisoft are brining Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes to the Playstation 3 this September. it is unclear if this HD version of Might & Magic is exclusive to the Playstation 3 or if the Xbox 360 will get it as well. there currently already exists a Nintendo DS version of this game made by Capybara.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is, as described by Capybara, "a puzzle/strategy/RPG hybrid in 2D". this version of the game builds on the DS by adding Online and Local Vs Multiplayer, co-op multiplayer, new balanced gameplay, new units and more. all the artwork is HD and the team behind Critter Crunch's art have worked on Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes.

[Update] Capybara have confirmed that the game is coming out on both XBLA and the PSN.

Press Release

LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (June 2nd, 2010) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. proudly announce Shogun 2: Total War™, the sixth instalment of The Creative Assembly’s multi award-winning Total War™ strategy franchise on PC. Shogun 2: Total War returns to Feudal Japan 10 years after the release of the original Shogun: Total War™, and sees Creative Assembly using a wealth of new ideas and development experience to make Shogun 2 the revolutionary strategy game that their first title has proven to be.

It is the middle of the 16th Century in Feudal Japan. The country, once ruled by a unified government, is now split into many warring clans. Players take on the role of one Daimyo, the clan leader, and will use military engagements, economics and diplomacy to achieve the ultimate goal, re-unite Japan under his supreme command and become the new Shogun – the undisputed ruler of a pacified nation.

Shogun 2: Total War will feature enhanced full 3D battles via land and sea, which made a name for the series, as well as the tactical campaign map that many refer to as the heart and soul of Total War. Featuring a brand new AI system inspired by the scriptures that influenced Japanese warfare, the millennia old Chinese “Art of War”, the Creative Assembly brings the wisdom of Master Sun Tsu to Shogun 2: Total War. Analysing this ancient text enabled the Creative Assembly to implement easy to understand yet deep strategical gameplay.

“Developing Shogun 2: Total War gives us the opportunity to use recent technology to portray one of history’s most exciting civil wars.” commented Mike Simpson, Creative Director at The Creative Assembly and father of the Total War franchise. “Ever since we developed Shogun: Total War 10 years ago, the team at The Creative Assembly has always dreamt of using our accumulated experience to revisit Total War in Feudal Japan.”

Shogun 2: Total War will be released exclusively for PC in 2011. For more information please visit www.totalwar.com.

EA Use The Football Engine Behind 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa And Predict Spain Will Win The World Cup

EA have used the football engine behind the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa to predict who will win this years World Cup. EA predict that Spain will win the World Cup, beating Brazil 3-1 in the final. EA used the engine to predict every match in the World Cup, from the group stages to the final and have made the following predictions:

World Champion: Spain
World Cup Final: Spain 3 Brazil 1
1st team to be eliminated: South Africa
Golden Boot winner: David Villa (Spain), 7 goals
Golden Ball winner: Kaka (Brazil)

Commentary on The Final:
The Final itself was an epic battle as Brazil put on a dazzling display of free-flowing samba style football early on against the Spaniards, taking a 1-0 lead in the 30th minute with a Felipe Melo strike from just inside the box. It didn’t take long for Spain to level the score after a goalie error that left striker David Villa in the clear. He tapped in his 6th goal of the tournament in the 42nd minute. The second half saw fortunes turn in favour of Spain, as their disciplined build up play and domination of possession paid off with a goal in the 61st minute when Villa connected for his second goal of the match, off of Andres Iniesta’s driven cross. Brazil had several efforts on goal in the final third of the match but couldn’t capitalize on its chances as they pushed all players forward in an attempt to draw even, eventually conceding a splendid counter attack goal in the 88th minute from Cesc Fabregas, which delivered Spain the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
