This week is the Athena Helios Cup Revival. i have played this cup before, https://youtu.be/Axk_VmmcLE0. back in the day, this was one of my shorter videos.

This week was as competitive as recent weeks, as you can see below there weren't too many other players online when i was playing. the rules this week were simple, make a + shape. But it also felt like the enemies health was also upped so i didn't seem to make too much progress. a couple of games didn't go well for me, but for most of it i was still competitive and finishing in the top 3. It didn't look like many other players managed to beat the boss this week, i didn't, but i did get to the boss a few times.

This week is the Gaslowe Cup Revival. i have played this cup before, https://youtu.be/iP5XB_uUTpQ. back in the day, this was one of my better games. 

This week was very competitive. i was up against someone in every match! the gimmick this week wasn't too tough, but it took a few matches for me to get warmed up. in the final battle, i managed to defeat the boss!  But that only happened once as not only was the boss very tough, but so was the character before. thankfully, i could see that most of the other players using a controller were also having a little trouble. this meant i had to rely, as did the others, on the bonuses at the end of the game.

This week is the Highren Revival Cup. i have played this cup before, https://youtu.be/PUjcmShT_ig, but that was very bad for me. it took nearly 4x as long as this video! I watched some of it and i was moving so slowly. like some of the recent revivals, it's at the beginning of when i started playing the game.

There weren't as many opponents this week even when compared to last week. so a few times i was playing against the computer. when i was playing against others, it was very competitive and it seemed like we all got stuck trying to defeat the boss. playing against the computer was easier and i always managed to win so it wasn't that exciting. I hope that the recent decline in users isn't a sign that, even here in Japan, the number of people playing online is getting dangerously low.

This week is the Pixel Kali Revival Cup. i have played this cup before, https://youtu.be/O755kjT9oWU, but that was very bad for me. it took nearly 3x as long as this video! even tho it went better the second time, i didn't really understand the gimmick or couldn't seem to activate as much as i wanted. i simply tried to make as many combos as possible whilst also making the longest connections. There were more players this week, nearly everyone i played against got a win! i also got a win but i couldn't beat the boss. it looked like most players i was playing against could beat it either.

This week is the first "Revival", where i am doing a Cup i have played before. you can watch that video at https://youtu.be/C-hzDv2kKSo. it's much longer than this video! This week i wasn't up against many other people. it's the quietest achievement run in some time. the competition was intense and very close at times. As for the gimmick this week, it was much simpler than last weeks, https://youtu.be/WbQSBNL2pJc, in that i could focus mostly on combos rather than anything happening to the stage itself. I did get to the final boss this week many times and i did manage to beat it once!

This week is the first "Revival", where i am doing a Cup i have played before. In fact, that Ruel Cup was the second video i ever recorded for the revival of QTE Gamers! you can check out that video https://youtu.be/YiYYxqtWpIY. it's nearly twice as long as this one, so it's nice to see that i have improved.

But it wasn't a fun cup. i don't enjoy the gimmicks where the balls change color. I only managed 1 win this week and kept getting stuck on the 5th boss. i didn't manage to beat the main boss either. i didn't play against many other players, but they were high level and made me try my best. but i don't think i quite grasped the gimmick so i didn't do well.

It was a very competitive cup this week. as you can see below, i played against many other players. I understood one of the gimmicks right away, making an "L" shape. but i took a little longer to realize that i could make a "+" shape, too. even tho i didn't fully get the gimmick, more scores were mostly competitive and i often finished in the top 3. But i didn't win many bonuses at the end. even playing it felt like i didn't have much Combo luck. I got to the boss several times, but i failed to do more than half damage and that's knowing what to do. maybe with another L or + the multiplier would've been enough to win. Thankfully, looking at the scores it was clear that i wasn't the only player having trouble. In the end, it was fun and i was soo relieved to get my Win. it's just a shame it was only 1 win this week.

I didn't win a single game this week. i played against many other players and they were really good. i managed to often get to the boss and beat it a couple of times, too. But my best result this week was only second. This week was one of, if not the most, competitive cups i have ever played in this series and it was a lot of fun. I was listening to music, @TheBTchannel's The Hopeful Machines that i had put onto MiniDisc (With Electronic Opus versions too), and i was leaning forward a lot. I nearly forgot i was recording a video as i was soo focused on trying to beat the other players.

This Summer Vacation Cup 2 was not as fun as last weeks Summer Vacation Cup 1 because i wasn't up against many other players in each game. it was only the last game when there were two other players. I also don't think i quite understood the gimmick this week as even tho i got to the boss a few times i was never able to defeat it and a couple of times some of the lower enemies caused me trouble. But i finished mostly in the top 3 and i did get a big win so it's not all bad.

This Summer Vacation Cup 1 turned out to be a lot of fun. in each game i was up against some strong competition from other players. so much so that i only got 1 win! i managed to beat the boss more times than winning! as i played i managed to get better and better, which isn't always the case, but i didn't seem to have as much luck when it came to the bonus points at the end as i managed to loose out a few times.

I wasn't able to play this on Monday when the new cup started, playing on Tuesday usually means there are fewer players online. but it was still competitive and i never managed to beat any of the other human players. when it was just me versus the computer, i did manage to get a couple of wins. But ultimately, i was never able to defeat the boss even tho i got there a few times. i feel like i understood what i needed to do, but was either unlucky or not quite right. This cup was also the first time in a while where i felt held back by using a controller as everything felt slower, and less accurate, than what i wanted to do.

It was great fun playing against so many other players. it felt like a real fight to get into the top 3, so the fact that i managed it in nearly all my games makes me feel very happy. but i don't think i ever truly mastered this event, even tho i did win a couple of times. when i got to the boss i couldn't even do half damage to it, that's why i think i didn't fully get what i had to do. if you see what i was doing wrong, please let me know in the comments.

It had been a long time coming but for the first time in a long while i managed to beat the boss! i didn't play against many other players, but there was only one game when it was just me. i had owl and YURI for most of the games and it was really tough to beat owl, even when i beat the boss too. i don't think i fully understood the gimmick, but i understood it well enough to get some great results. this was a fun week.

It was fun this week. i had another player to go up against in every match. tho, the matchmaking was a little strange at times. more than once i was put  into a game right at the end of the countdown or someone was put into mine. as for playing, well i got a couple of wins early on but then it seemed to get tougher. it certainly got more competitive but i also think i got a little unlucky with combos. this is another week where i got to the boss many times but i was never able to defeat it.

After winning the first game, i thought this was going to be an easy cup. but it turned out to be much more difficult. i had some bad luck with combos but there were times that i forgot about making the "+" shape and tried to make as many combos as i could. this was a mistake as the "+" was simply soo much more powerful. so this week, i admit it's somewhat my own fault for some of my poor games. sometimes the other players also had a bad match and sometimes the matches were really close. this week, the highs were high and the lows were low, but thankfully i got to play against many players so it was fun.

I play and earn all the achievements from The Miya Cup! (2023/6/5 9:00～2023/6/12 8:59 JST) in Puzzle & Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition whilst using a GamePad and a docked Nintendo Switch.

This is up there as one of the shortest videos for this series. There were no connection issues, battles finished quickly, and there were no pauses. it's definitely one of the smoother cup runs i've done. in the 6 games i played, there were 3 wins, two 2nds, and a third place finish.

I mostly understood the gimmick this week, but i didn't manage to beat the boss. it looked like most the people i played with didn't beat it either. later on, you'll see i start adding more "L" shape matches but i don't think i quite grasped which colors gave me the bonus damage.

Switch Funday - Puzzle & Dragon: Nintendo Switch Edition - Oceanus Falls and Kronos Forest

For Switch Funday, i decided to play Puzzle & Dragon: Nintendo Switch Edition. I already play this game for Tuesday's Puzzle & Dragons Tuesday, https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLyEBkNKW1vyrmZICkMDUAK4PIqkPjfxr2, but that series focuses on the online cups. But there are other game modes to play.

So today i focused on completing the Oceanus Falls and Kronos Forest dungeons, the 8th and 9th ones, in the quest mode. there were some real close moments and overall i would say it was more difficult than playing the online cups. the biggest difference is that the monsters in the quest mode can kill you, whereas playing in the cups it's more you're up against other players and want to have the highest score.

Whilst this was another easy cup, where the gimmick was not only easy t o understand but also easy to pull off, it wasn't as exciting as some more recent cups due to the lack of other players. there was only one other player i matched with this week. i didn't beat them, but our second game, my final one of this video, was really close. this week i was able to get to the boss frequently but only once was i able to beat them.
