Monkey Paw And GAIJINWORKS Announce Kickstarter Project To Bring Class of Heroes 2 To US/EU

Monkey Paw have announced a partnership with GAIJINWORKS for a Kickstarter campaign that will see the Japanese PSP game Class of Heroes 2 get an EU/USA release. if successful, this could pave the way for other Japanese games to be released across the EU/USA. They hope to raise $500,000 so they can release the game both at retail and digitally. the money will also be used to bring improvements to the game and a deluxe pack physical release, this pack is only for Kickstarter supporters. There are other bonuses for people who want to donate, they are in order on how much you donate:

• Custom gold-sealed letters acknowledging pledged hardcore JRPG support from Victor Ireland
• Class of Heroes 2 Deluxe Pack for PSP® system with bronze/silver/gold commemorative pins per tier
• Class of Heroes 2 Limited Edition character plush toys
• Class of Heroes 2 Poster signed by the entire team
• Inclusion in the game’s credits and ability to choose credit placement level with pledge

Rovio Announce They Have Acquired Futuremark Games Studio

Rovio have announced they have acquired Futuremark Games Studio, the gaming arm or Futuremark.

“They are an incredibly talented and experienced team, and we are thrilled to have them on board,” said Mikael Hed, Rovio Entertainment’s CEO. “Rovio’s success is founded on the excellence of our team, and Futuremark Games Studio is going to be a superb addition.” 

"I am proud to see the potential of our talented games team recognized by Rovio," said Jukka Mäkinen, Futuremark CEO. "Futuremark will now focus on supporting gamers and industry with 3DMark, our professional grade benchmark which, in a new version to be released later this year, will allow unified gaming performance comparison across operating systems and form factors for the first time." 

Futuremark is Rovio's second acquisition over the last year. at present, Rovio employs nearly 300 people across Espoo and Tampere, Finland and Shanghai, China.
