Mobile Friday - Cats & Soup - The First Thirty Minutes

Today's Mobile Friday is a look at Cats & Soup on iPhone. I've had this game installed on my phone for a while but hadn't tried it. Unlike previous videos in this series where i looked for games on the game charts in the iOS store, this one was picked more out of curiosity. This video is shorter than others in this series but that's down to the style of game it is rather than any issue with it. Oh, and this video is the first to feature my new audio recording microphone!

Puzzle and Dragons Tuesday - Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition - Caslowe Cup - Achievement Run

Welcome to Puzzle and Dragons Tuesday. This week it is the Caslowe Cup. This is one of my shorter videos than recent Achievement Runs. The gimmick this week was easy to understand and i was able to use it well, especially with some of the power ups. Like last week tho, the main problem was the other players. There were some shockingly high scores. But in the end, even I managed a win!

Cloud Monday - White Knight Chronicles 2: White Knight Chronicles 1 Remastered

I'm back playing White Knight Chronicles. But this time it's not the same game. I found White Knight Chronicles 2 on the PlayStation Plus Store, that's the start of the video, and decided to try out the remastered version of White Knight Chronicles that comes with it.

Switch Funday - Splatoon 3 - September's Splatfest Tri-Color Turf War

Today is the return of Splatoon 3 to Nintendo Switch Funday.

In today's video, i wanted to focus on the exclusive Tri-Color Turf War game mode that was only available today, Sunday 25th September. However, as you'll see in the video, even tho i played for over an hour i never actually got matched into a Tri-Color Turf War game. All the games in this video were the regular Turf War game mode.

Online Saturday - Splatoon 3 - An Hour of September's Splatfest

I'm back playing Splatoon 3. This weekend was the game's first Splatfest since the game came out. before the game was released, Nintendo ran a free Splatfest where the question was, rock paper scissors. This Splatfest has a new question, "What would you bring to a deserted island?" Your choices to vote from are Gear, Grub, or Fun. Watch the video and see what i chose as well as come poor connectivity and long matchmaking times, something which wasn't the case with previous online multiplayer videos from Splatoon 3.

Mobile Friday - Alchemy Stars - The First Hour

On this Mobile Friday, I'll be playing Alchemy Stars on iPhone 11 Pro. I'll be playing from the first start of the app and for about an hour. This is another game where i didn't really know anything about it going in. Since playing it, I've learned that the game is rather big and has a big following on social media. So if you're interested in it after watching me play, i'd recommend having a look at the community surrounding the game.

In yesterday's video, i finished Gley Lancer and teased that the next video would also have a space theme. Well the next game in the Backlog Conquering series is Deliver us the Moon on PS4 by Wired Productions.

Puzzle and Dragons Tuesday - Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition - Highren Cup - Achievement Run

Welcome to Puzzle and Dragons Tuesday. This week i try to get all the achievements in the Highren Cup. I didn't find this cup as difficult as last weeks, but it took longer than i expected to complete it because of my opponents. There were some truly amazing high scores in this video and even in my best games i'd get stuck 4th or lower. Sit back, watch it all or leave it on in the background as i do my best to get all the achievements. 

Cloud Monday - White Knight Chronicles Part 2

Once again, and i imagine this'll be the case going forward, it wasn't straight forward getting the game to load. Simply put, i was unable to launch the game because of an unexpected error. I then restored licenses. This actually attempted to load the game but timed out. i then restarted my PS4 and then the game worked. This video starts from that point. 

But that wasn't the only issue i had. White Knight Chronicles is a game that had a robust online component, I didn't think it was still online but as it was so heavily marketed on the game page i tried it out. The game gets stuck. The PS3 tries to check for an update, but is unable to find one. However, there's no way out of this menu. it's over top of the game's own checks. the game knows it's offline and would let you progress. it's the PS3 that's stopping. and so it stopped me and i called an end to Part 2.

Overall, streaming the game went fine. over two videos, i only came across 1 thing that could've been because of streaming, and that was a simple grey blob that appeared for a frame or two. the game's slow pace and bright colors mean that it plays well. If you were to ask me if i thought the game was good, i'd honestly say i'm probably still a little too early in to score it. but i think it's worth a go if you have the time free. It took 2 videos to get to the opening cut scene and past day 1.

Nintendo Switch Funday - Harvestella: Prologue Demo

Today's Nintendo Switch Funday video is on Square Enix's Harvestella: Prologue Demo. This demo was revealed in this week's Nintendo Direct. The game, like many demos, allows your progress to carry over to the main game when it comes out. I played over an hour and a half of the demo and was maybe less than halfway through it. But i'll say i doubt i'll dive back in, i wasn't really clicking with the demo. watch and come to your own conclusions tho.

Online Saturday - Splatoon 3 - Turf War - An Hour Of 1.1.1 Update

This Saturday's Online game is Splatoon 3.

Today, game update 1.1.1 was released. This patch does bring some balancing to the game, but it mostly focuses on online connections. In this video, you'll see that there was only one issue with online gameplay and that getting into a game was much faster than normal.

Mobile Friday - Micro RPG on iPhone - The First Forty

On this Mobile Friday, I'll be playing Micro RPG on iPhone. I'll be playing from the first start of the app for around 40 minutes. I didn't really know or remember much about this game. I had installed it last week and mostly forgot about it. But when i started playing, i remembered why i chose it for this week. i was curious whether there was much to it beyond it's cute artstyle and i'd say i was pleasantly surprised. I might've played a little longer if it wasn't for dying.

I've enjoyed playing Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition for Nintendo Funday so i've decided to make it its own series for now.

This video is longer than my previous ones because i found the gimmick for this cup the most difficult i've faced so far. to be honest, i'm not sure I fully understood the rules. If you gave it ago, let me know how it went. I hope it went better than my Cup run!

Cloud Monday - White Knight Chronicles

Today i was finally able to start the Cloud Gaming series. I had hoped to have started this a week or two ago but i had been having trouble with PlayStation Plus Premium.

Before i recorded this video, I had tried once before, but i couldn't get the game to stream. I had previously emailed Sony Help and they gave me a couple of suggestions. some stuff regarding cache and routers that didn't help. what did help was going into account settings on my PS4 and restoring licenses. for this gaming session, it seemed to clear things up somewhat.

But, as you'll see in the video, i was having other trouble with the service and so the first 15 minutes or so is me showing the trouble i had.

I want it to be clear, the point of this series is to show the games, but to also show and talk about the gaming experience of playing a game from the cloud.

 

Nintendo Switch Funday - Splatoon 3 - 1 Hour of Story

Today is the return of Nintendo Switch Funday...on Sunday.
today i'm back playing Splatoon 3. in the previous videos, i've been playing the online multiplayer. Today tho, i'll be playing an hour of the story.

I haven't started the story before today, so you get to see how the game introduces the story via 4 stages that feel like a well-done tutorial before it finishes with an interesting twist. You'll also be able to see that you don't need to worry about the story from the previous games.

Online Saturday - Splatoon 3 - Salmon Run - 1 Hour Bonus Video!

Welcome to a bonus Online Saturday video. earlier today, i played up to level 4 in Splatoon 3's Turf War. this video follows on from getting to level 4 because as well as unlocking accessories for your character, reaching level 4 also unlocks the Salmon Run multiplayer mode. this is a PvE game mode that i hadn't played before. so watch as i play this mode for the first time and see some high highs and low lows!

Online Saturday - Splatoon 3 - Turf War - Playing to Level 4

This Saturday's Online game is Splatoon 3.

In today's video i play Turf War until i reach level 4. this is because as you level up more parts of the game open up. at level 3, you're able to purchase new weapons. at level 4 you're able to purchase new accessories for your character.

i also try the Amiibo function, but as i didn't use a Splatoon Amiibo it didn't work.

Mobile Friday - Guidus on iPhone - The First Forty

On this Mobile Friday, I'll be playing Guidus on iPhone. I'll be playing from the first start of the app for around 40 minutes. Going in, i didn't know anything about it. I saw the game in the app store and picked it because the icon looked interesting. I tried not to read anything on the game page, so i was a little surprised to find out it was a rouge lite. In this video you'll see me do a few runs after the intial tutorial.

Nintendo Switch Funday - Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition - Lajoa Cup - Achievement Run

Thankfully any day can be Nintendo Switch Funday. My original plan was to do Online Cloud Gaming via the PS4 and PlayStation Plus Premium. But i'm unable to stream anything. i've sent them an email.

Today is the start of a new Cup in Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition, so why not get stuck in and finish it early. In this video you'll see me complete all the achievements. But, you'll also see the online issues the game was having for the first few games. It got so bad, i was stuck in a lobby with no way to exit other than going to the Swtich's home screen and closing and restarting the game.

There was no challenging gimmick this week, so watch and see if i'm finally able to win a game but also...do i actually defeat the boss? leave the video playing in the background and watch and findout.

Nintendo Switch Funday - Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition - Ruel Cup - Achievement Run

Sunday is "Nintendo Switch Funday!"
Today's Nintendo Switch game play video is once again Puzzle and Dragons: Nintendo Switch Edition.   

In this long video, watch as i tackle the game's "Ruel Cup" and try to get all the achievements from it. The video is long, because i found this cup much more difficult than last weeks. There was a gimmick this week, one random spot on the board would change an orb's type. this spot would move game to game. so, as you'll see, some matches were easier than others...but will you see me win a game?

 

Online Saturday - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass

This Saturday's Online game is Mario Kart 8 Deluxe: Booster Course Pass.

I used to play Mario Kart on the Game Boy Advance against my friends using the link cable. i also played the GameCube version with my friends. but i haven't played it much online. 

Today's video shows an hour or so of regional opponents, i live in Japan, as well as worldwide opponents. my aim as ever is to not finish last, watch and find out if I succeed!  

Mobile Friday - Alice Ficition on iPhone - The First Hour or So

Welcome to this week's Mobile Friday.

This week i'll be playing Alice Fiction on my iPhone 11 Pro.

Going into this game i knew nothing about it, apart from what was written on it's app store page, and this video shows gameplay from the first time you load into it.

It's a long video and you'll understand why as you watch it. But it's worth watching as the story is good, the graphics are standout, and the music is very catchy.

If the comments to this video ask for it, i could play it again for another hour or so for next Friday's Mobile Friday video segement.

Today is Thursday and that means it's the second Backlog Conquering day of the week.
Today i continue to play Gley Lancer on the PS4.
