Sony Announce PS3 Firmware Update 4.20, Comes Tomorrow With Save Data Management Wireless Stereo Headset Improvements

Sony have announced PS3 Firmware update 4.20. this update is set to come out tomorrow and it brings improvements to Save Data Management and the Wireless Stereo Headset. the update also brings Auto system turn off. if the PS3 hasn't been used for a hour the console can now turn itself off, if the option has been turned on. The Save Data Management improvements mean you can now select multiple save files to make copying/deleting easier.

The Wireless Stereo Headset gets a few improvements. you are now able to adjust Sidetone, the ability to hear your own voice, to a choice of 5 levels or to turn it off completely. Virtual Surround Sound is also now available when you are watching Blu-Ray or DVD Movies.

 THQ Have announced customers who purchase Darksiders II from their shopTHQ store get some additional benefits. all pre-orders are upgraded to the Limited Edition Version of the game, which means they get the first DLC pack for free. but these customers also get the Darksiders II Season Pass which means they will get the 2nd and 3rd DLC packs for free. Customers will also get a code to unlock the exclusive Maker's Armor and Scythe set. THQ also say shopTHQ is now the only place to get the Darksiders II Collectors Edition.

Whilst THQ have now announced there are at least 3 DLC packs coming to the game, details on them are light. the first pack is called Argul's Tomb and is set to come out around a month after the game has come out. THQ have said that these DLC packs do add "...significant new single player conent."

Nintendo have announced an XL version of the Nintendo 3DS. this 3DS XL comes out across Europe on 28th July and will be available in Silver + Black, Red + Black, And Blue+Black. this new system won't come bundled with a AC Adaptor, Nintendo say the Adaptor from the previous DS and 3DS work with it. the system will come bundled with a 4GB SD Card and Nintendo say the battery life of this version is greater than the original 3DS model.

Saints Row: The Third Enter The Dominatrix Expansion Is Now Part Of "The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise.”

THQ And Volition have announced the Saints Row: The Third Enter The Dominatrix is now not coming out. instead, this once standalone expansion is now going to be incorporated into the next Saints Row game tentatively titled "The Next Great Sequel in the Saints Row Franchise.”

THQ President Jason Rubin has explained this decision:
"When I looked at the  Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise,” said Jason Rubin, THQ’s President. “I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed we wanted to play that   game. When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better, and even more over the top, and that’s why  Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, full-fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”

The Xbox is the best selling console across the USA show attending the USA E3 show makes sense for Microsoft. skipping Tokyo Game Show makes sense as the Xbox doesn't sell there. skpping Gamescom and focusing on local shows also makes sense as, like Japan, the PS3 is the main seller across Europe. however, the Xbox 360 does sell well in a couple of European countries.
