Description: Trapy plankton make sounds as they swim over graceful lines made up of linked triangles. The creatures follow the lines you trace along the water. There are six types of Trapy in all, each with a unique color and sound. All Trapy plankton produce different tones depending on the direction they swim. They produce the lowest-pitched sounds when they swim to the right and produce higher-pitched sounds as their path veers to the left.

Electroplankton Hanenbow
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Normally aquatic creatures, Hanenbow sometimes use floating leaves to launch themselves out of the water, creating strange sounds and melodies as they bounce off the leaves. Entire schools of Hanenbow have been known to launch out of the water, one after another. As a leaf is repeatedly hit by flying Hanenbow, it gradually changes color. This also alters the sound made by bouncing Hanenbow. When all the leaves turn red, a flower will bloom. It remains unclear why the Hanenbow display this curious behavior.

Electroplankton Rec-Rec
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Rec-Rec are fishlike plankton that feed on sound waves. They absorb sound waves transmitted through water and use them as a form of nutrition. The sound waves that the Rec-Rec eat are then stored inside their bodies until they have been digested. Once the digestion process is complete, they play back the sounds in perfect four-second intervals. While these sounds are playfully emitted, wave patterns can be seen pulsating on their bodies. Rec-Rec always swim side by side in schools of four. When they swim at different speeds, the frequency with which they emit sounds also changes.

Electroplankton Nanocarp
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Nanocarp have very sensitive hearing. Using their two ears to sense vibrations coming through the water, these plankton can distinguish sound quality and frequency. They display very interesting reactions to the sound of humans clapping or breathing. Nanocarp are also excellent swimmers. They have a tendency to swim in formations of 16 and react together when they detect sounds. These plankton emit sounds on their own when they sense waves on the water's surface. When this happens, the pitch of sounds they produce changes depending on where the Nanocarp is located.

Electroplankton Beatnes
Publisher: Nintendo
Players: 1
ESRB Rating: E (Everyone)
Price: 200 Nintendo DSi Points
Description: Beatnes are curious plankton with geometrically shaped heads that form vertical strands like seaweed. Their bodies are made up of eight sections, each featuring a distinctive diamond-shaped tail. The sound of a Beatnes can vary wildly depending on which segment of the body is tapped. However, all of the sounds closely resemble the short-wave and triangular-wave sound effects from a Nintendo Entertainment System™ sound chip. When Beatnes are tapped in time with a rhythm, they continue to repeat the sounds in perfect time for a short period.

The entertainment phenomenon that took Xbox LIVE by storm is hitting your Xbox 360 again with Season 2 of “1 vs 100” on Xbox LIVE!

Based on Endemol’s hit TV game show, Xbox has pioneered a completely new genre of entertainment. Bringing together the best of television show experiences and interactive video games, “1 vs 100” Season 2 on Xbox LIVE will again feature Chris Cashman as the comedic live host everyone has come to love, all-new fresh trivia, and more real prizes.

“1 vs 100” Season 2 will run for 14 weeks and bring you new and exciting features. Get the inside scoop (and a jump start on the questions) by answering the following:

Question 1: “1 vs 100” Season 2 will premier on Xbox LIVE:
A: November 19, 2009 at 5:00 pm PT
B: November 24, 2009 at 5:00 pm PT
C: New Years Eve at 5:00 pm PT

Question 2: In “1 vs 100” Season 2, your chances of taking center stage are cooler than ever. During “1 vs 100 Live” shows, “The One” and “The Mob” will be selected based on:
A: Score, speed, accuracy, and number of Achievements you’ve earned.
B: Score, score, score – totals across the Season, the week and the round!
C: How many pigeons you have in your back yard.

The answer to question one is…. A: November 19 at 5:00 pm PT!
The answer to question two is…..B: Score, score, score – totals across the Season, the week and the round!

The higher your score, the higher your chances of being chosen as “The One,” or “The Mob.” Being “the One” is exciting and intense! So, if you’re chosen as “the One” in “1 vs 100” Season 2, Xbox LIVE will automatically change your status to “Busy.” You’ll also enjoy more time in the spotlight – “the One” will strike a pose at the top of the stairs before strolling down to center stage.

Beginning on November 19, “1 vs 100 Extended Play” will feature brand new themed trivia every weeknight including “Finish the Lyrics” (are you a Karaoke champ? What’s the next line in this song?), “80s” (how well do you know the 80s?), and “Vampires” (you love Twilight and True Blood. How much do you really know about vampires?)

We let the Xbox LIVE community speak for itself – on average more than half a million unique contestants competed in “1 vs 100” every single week during the 15 week Beta season of “1 vs 100,” which launched on June 1, 2009. Up to 114,000 people in the US and Canada, and 79,000 people in the UK and Ireland competed simultaneously in “1 vs 100 Live” shows. Microsoft even awarded nearly two million Microsoft points as prizes during the Beta season! “1 vs 100” was also downloaded nearly three million times making it one of the top 10 most downloaded pieces of content on Xbox LIVE to date.

What Have You Played This Week?

Not a huge amount of games played this week. Earth Defence Force ended up being a lot longer than I imagined it would be...53 levels and 10 hours!

Football Manager 09 – PC – I decided to go back to a favourite team in the game, FC bayern Munchen. They are not my favourite team, that's Ipswich Town, but they are one of the easiest teams to play as, which enables me to look for other players, tactics and such. Would love to get the new game, but unfortunately I can't afford it, but what is great about the Football Manager games is that you can play them for a long time, even if a new version has come out (typically as the newest Football Manager needs 1 patch for it to get great.)

Fat Princess – PS3 – I played New Pork and think its a good map. It does feel slightly too big, but near the end of a game it does get very hectic as defences are broken. As its very new, only a few people new how to play the map properly which made it frustrating.

Earth Defence Force 2017 – Xbox 360 – Finally finished it. But after 53 levels and 10 hours I started to not enjoy it. The game just felt too long. The load times didn't get any better, and by level 40, the frame rate was becoming an issue as there was so many things happening on screen the game couldn't handle it. The story made little sense. One good thing was the progression of weapons and health, only once did I think the game had got ahead of my health. One big annoyance is the achievements, I completed the game on normal and got that achievement but I didn't get the easy competition one. You have to go through each difficulty and complete it.

AudioSurf – PC – I hadn't played this game in a long time and I had gotten a couple of emails saying my high scores had been beaten. I got a few back, got a couple of high scores. That part of the game has been improved a lot since the game came out, and whilst now its very well implemented the time it took for it to happen is poor. Still a simple game, graphics look to have been improved slightly, and importantly I find its still fun.

What have you been playing this week? feel free to add your weeks gaming selection in the comments, or comment on my selection for this week
