Microsoft Annoucnes The Hyundai Genesis Coupe Free DLC Pack For Forza 3
Hyundai Genesis Coupe
Press Release
Few enthusiasts will ever get the chance to drive the 300-horsepower Genesis Coupe on a racetrack, but thanks to Forza Motorsport® 3, racing game enthusiasts will be able to test their driving skills in the Genesis Coupe in the game via a free vehicle add-on pack to be released November 17.
“Genesis Coupe’s participation in Forza Motorsport 3 will raise Hyundai’s awareness with driving enthusiasts and the very important youth segment,” said Joel Ewanick, vice president, Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “The mission for Genesis Coupe was to create a pure performance car and for it to appear in such a realistic racing simulator is awesome.”
Developed by Turn 10 Studios, Forza Motorsport 3 lets players live out their dreams behind the wheel of more than 400 of the most-beloved cars, including a roster of Hyundai favorites. The vehicles can be driven on more than 100 renowned real-world tracks and exotic road courses from around the globe. Further fueling the imaginations of its evergreen community of painters, tuners and photographers, Forza Motorsport 3 features improved customization tools and brand new ways to share creations with the world via Xbox LIVE.
To celebrate the flourishing Forza community, Hyundai will be gifting a free downloadable vehicle package on Xbox LIVE® on November 17, 2009. The package will include the Rhys Millen Racing Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe, HKS Genesis Coupe, and a one-of-a-kind Genesis Coupe. The Hyundai Genesis Coupe will also boast its own race series within the Career mode of the game. Hyundai is also developing an online photo and video upload contest for Forza gamers who can show off their best in-game photo and video of the Genesis Coupe in action.
Hyundai’s relationship with Microsoft developed out of a lust for high performance automobiles. The Microsoft team met with Hyundai staff at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas in November of 2008 to discuss possibilities around the upcoming 2010 Genesis Coupe, and consulted with Hyundai’s premier drift racer Rhys Millen to provide feedback.
“It is exciting to have your own car in a video game. I was very impressed with the realism of the game with things like hood pins and exhaust outlets showing up in precise detail,” says Millen, driver of the Red Bull Hyundai Genesis Coupe race car and founder of Rhys Millen Racing. “The Turn 10 game developers were very accurate in portraying the driving experience as well. For example, changing tires alters the handling of the car just like in the real world.”
Look for the free downloadable Hyundai vehicle package on Xbox LIVE Marketplace November 17!

The History Of The Beatles Rock Band Commercial Is Discussed
"After winning the job, Langenegger was granted access to the actual Abbey Road archives. In London, he worked closely with the agency and Apple Corps to source archival footage enabling him to bring the actual 1969 Beatles back to appear in the commercial.
Over the course of production and post, Langenegger would meet with Apple Corps at the highest levels, collaborating with Giles Martin (son of Beatles producer Sir George Martin) who produced the title’s music, and ultimately gaining the approval of McCartney, Starr, Olivia Harrison, and Yoko Ono, at several stages of the project's development.
The two-month endeavor involved GARTNER recreating Abbey Road in Hollywood. “Everything we shot was based on specs from the original day,” says Carter, adding that the input of all parties was extremely constructive and helpful. “We presented body doubles for The Beatles, for example, and Marcel wanted them to be just right. The double for George was changed based on input from Olivia Harrison.”
“The first 24 hours online were crazy,” says Carter of the grassroots response to the ad, which aired live during the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards on September 13th and is part of a Global campaign continuing through the holiday season. “The Beatles have been introduced to a new audience and a new generation. It’s an honor for all of us to be a part of that.” "
Press Release
SANTA MONICA, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Nov 03, 2009 On September 9, The Beatles Rock Band game was launched with a :30 television commercial produced by GARTNER and directed by Marcel Langenegger.
Created via RDA Integrated in partnership with MTV Games and Apple Corps. Ltd., “Abbey Road” utilizes state-of-the-art technology and never before seen archive footage to bring the 1969 Beatles legendary album cover to life with John, Paul, Ringo and George joined by hundreds of adoring fans.
The game’s success (it sold out one quarter of its inventory the first week) and its steady climb in sales (the game is outselling Guitar Hero 5) is no revelation. What hasn’t been told until now is the story behind the production of “Abbey Road.”
The adventure began in June, at E3 (the Electronic Entertainment Expo) in Los Angeles, where Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr made guest appearances. GARTNER Partners/Executive Producers Don Block and Rich Carter and director Langenegger were there as well, and embarked on the first of many, many meetings with the team behind The Beatles Rock Band game.
RDA was aware of Langenegger, whose ’08 feature debut, “Deception” (20th Century Fox), starred Hugh Jackman and who has helmed notable spot work for Mercedes, Intel, Nissan, Microsoft, and Doctors Without Borders, for which he won a Gold Lion at Cannes. It would take more than a great reel, however, to best the competition and nab the assignment. “Marcel really impressed the team with his amazing depth of knowledge about the Abbey Road shoot,” recalls Block.
After winning the job, Langenegger was granted access to the actual Abbey Road archives.
EDMONTON, Alberta --(Business Wire)-- Nov 03, 2009 Leading video game developer BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ:ERTS), announced today that award-winning rock band Thirty Seconds to Mars will headline the in-game soundtrack for the new epic RPG, Dragon Age™: Origins. The title song from the band’s new album “THIS IS WAR” will make its world debut in Dragon Age: Origins before the highly-anticipated album (EMI’s Virgin Records) drops on December 8th. Available in the game today, fans and press can also get a first-listen of “THIS IS WAR” in an exclusive game trailer co-produced by Thirty Seconds to Mars front-man, Jared Leto.
“EA has always had a forward-thinking relationship with Thirty Seconds to Mars and we are overwhelmed with excitement about the band’s involvement and creative contribution to Dragon Age: Origins,” said Steve Schnur, Worldwide Executive of Music and Music Marketing at EA. “This exciting song debut exemplifies our continued commitment to working with great bands that move the needle to where music is going.”
“We always like to push the envelope in the entertainment and media space and debuting our title track in a game of this caliber is a great way to communicate our music to fans around the world,” said Jared Leto, lead singer of Thirty Seconds to Mars. “We’ve come a long way from having to rely solely on radio to approach and engage music fans, and Dragon Age: Origins is the perfect game to do this with.”
In Dragon Age: Origins, players take the role of a Grey Warden, one of the last of an ancient order of guardians. Now, as a rising evil threatens to destroy all life, it is up to players to unite the shattered lands and slay the corrupted dragon known as the Archdemon. To restore peace, players must make ruthless decisions and be willing to sacrifice their friends and loved ones for the greater good of mankind.
Dragon Age: Origins is available now in North America on PlayStation®3, Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PC. In Europe, Dragon Age: Origins will be released on November 6th on the Xbox 360® videogame and entertainment system and PC and later in November on PlayStation®3. With more than 100 million views on YouTube, 40 million plays on MySpace and more than one million fans on iLike/Facebook, Thirty Seconds to Mars have always been quick to embrace digital culture. Formed by brothers Jared and Shannon Leto, Thirty Seconds to Mars have won numerous awards and accolades, including an MTV Video Music Award, three MTV EMA’s, an MTV Latin and Asia Award, a Fuse Award, and three Kerrang! Awards. Thirty Seconds to Mars’ sophomore record, “A Beautiful Lie” hit platinum status after almost two years of heavy touring and winning fans over, one by one. The media caught on too - Alternative Press raved that the band "...just might be rock's best-kept secret. He [Jared Leto] sings with a range and ease that makes cathedrals jealous" while the Washington Post exclaimed, "hard-driving guitar riffs and powerful vocals carry this head banging outfit all the way to the rock-race finish line." The record spawned two Top 5 Modern Rock singles, “From Yesterday” and “The Kill” and the latter set a radio record for the longest-running hit in the history of Modern Rock radio play when it remained on the national airplay chart for more than 50 weeks following its #3 peak in 2006. “From Yesterday” was the band’s first #1 at the format and its epic video was the first American music video ever shot in the People's Republic of China. Thirty Seconds to Mars have over 500 live performances under their belts since the release of “A Beautiful Lie”, including major festival shows like Lollapalooza in the United States, Holland’s Pinkpop Festival and Japan’s Summer Sonic, which has earned them a growing, loyal, global fan base.

What Have You Played This Week?
Football Manager 09 – PC – I decided to go back to a favourite team in the game, FC bayern Munchen. They are not my favourite team, that's Ipswich Town, but they are one of the easiest teams to play as, which enables me to look for other players, tactics and such. Would love to get the new game, but unfortunately I can't afford it, but what is great about the Football Manager games is that you can play them for a long time, even if a new version has come out (typically as the newest Football Manager needs 1 patch for it to get great.)
WipEout HD Fury – PS3 – Still enjoying the Eliminator, especially online. Working my way through unlocking liveries from many of the teams and working my way through the Fury events.
God Of War III Demo – PS3 – I'm a huge fan of the series and have been awaiting this demo for a while. And as soon as I started playing, all the combo's came flooding back. It looks great, and what's better is that it's a old demo. Its almost guaranteed that the game will look better than this. The demo through some old enemies, some new moves, and the death of a God, everything you hoped to see. The only issue I had was the size of the Demo as it took all night to download it. Some people new to the series may find it a bit difficult, but stick with it cause it is a very satisfying game.
Dragon Ball Z Raging Burst Demo – PS3 – I've played a few of the Dragon Ball X beat-um-ups and enjoyed them. This demo is a bit short and limited, but I think I got a good feel for it. The controls took some getting used to, with many of the special attacks being put on the right stick, and the camera is still a little iffy, but overall the presentation is keeping with the TV show and destructible environments are fun.
Earth Defence Force 2017 – Xbox 360 – this is my new rented game. I've heard many different things about this game. For me, I do like that the levels are short and its simply a shooter. Some might call it a pallet cleanser. But the difficulty does spike now and then, and i'm currently stuck on level 15. the loading times for this game are terrible, even when its install to HDD, and for those who like trophies...these are hard.
What have you been playing this week? feel free to add your weeks gaming selection in the comments, or comment on my selection for this week
